Outsiders
His contract is over at the end on the season.... Does Vancouver have the cap space to keep him? They better because he is a solid defenseman for us and has offensive talent... He is one of the trusted defenseman and always stays calm... He will want more money, but do the Canucks have the money to make him stay?

zombieksa
It has been discussed on CDC a few times and general consensus is somewhere in the ballpark of 2-3 years 1.4-1.8M
Wheels22
I don't think the other teams in the league have even heard of him still. So I imagine he'll re-sign with us... Unless Gillis does something stupid

DIBdaQUIB
He will want more and has earned it. Still...he will be a bargain for what he brings largely because he is not yet putting up solid offensive numbers and is not a physical D man. He is just starting to show signs of being stronger and of some offensive capability so it would be a huge mistake to trade him away. Hopefully, Gillis locks him up as he is the kind of humble, character guy that will always give it his all whether he is secure in a cotract or not. Aladeen
He's an RFA why would anyone think he is going anywhere? Unless there is a disgusting offersheet or a ridonkulous overpayment in a trade Tanev will sign his next contract with the Canucks no doubt. Niloc009
My dream would be 3 years at 2.5 per year. Team pays more than what he's worth for a pretty good length. By the end of the deal, it should be a total steal.

CanucksFanMike
I would be shocked if he wasn't a memeber of the Canucks next season given that he is an RFA.... However, the process could get pretty ugly if Tanev gets greedy and goes to arbitration. I would hope that he will re-sign for 3 yrs at $1.5 M per
elvis15
Short answer: of course, yes. Longer answer: he hasn't done anything offensively to warrant a contract we won't be able to afford so he'll sign a reasonable deal hopefully based on his steady defensive play with some decent term to lock him up for a while.
