Just wondering what CDC's favourite announcers are for Canucks games!

As much as I love Hughson... Garret for color is too awesome! while Simpson doesn't bring much.

Best would be: Hughson/Garret FTW!!

I'd go Shorthouse/Garrett.

Cuthbert/Ferraro should be there too as they do team up at times and they would be my second choice.

Shorthouse/Garrett for sheer entertainment, but Hughson is my favourite play-by-play ever. Shame he's with Craig Simpson.

The TSN guys are great too...Cuthbert and Miller are both great play-by-play (especially Cuthbert), and Ray Ferraro can be pretty funny at times.

I'd say that Shorthouse and Cuthbert are the top 2 play-by-play guys. Personally, I like listening to Shorthouse for Canucks games because he's a bit biased.

For color, I like John Garrett, even though he can get off-topic at times and is very biased. Ferraro is also great. He is such a knowledgeable and experienced guy, and he's also a terrific speaker.

Cuthbert and Ferraro between the benches. Then Hughson/Simpson, last Garret/Shorthouse. So sick of them lol

My dream team of commentators:

Play by play: Shorthouse
Color: Don Taylor
Between the benches: Hughson
Intermission: Ron Maclean, Don Cherry, and WIll Ferrell

Hughson is the best....Cuthbert / Johnson (TSN) close second. John and John suck. I like Ferraro but sometimes he just talks way toooooo much.

While Hughson is my favourite, Simpson is just irritating. Sure, Shorthouse and Garret are Homers, but they are pretty funny ones so it works out.

I was saying Lu-Urns...

Shorthouse/Garrett for sure! I love a little bit of home town bias... I would pick Hughson/Simpson but I can't stand Simpson so no thanks.

Hughson/Simpson
Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

CBC used to provide us with Cuthbert/Garrett in the 1990s. I'd like to hear that combination again some day. It was fantastic, providing Hockey Night in Canada with an excellent west coast broadcasting team. Hearing that duo in the playoffs, especially, was something special.
The greatest segue into a weather segment.

I find Hughson turning into a bit of a past his peak Larscheid lately.

I love Garret's honesty. And he and Shorty have a good chemistry that I really enjoy.

Shorthouse and Hughson are awesome.

Garrett is an annoying homer.....Taylor is so much more fun to listen to when he was doing colour.

Simpson has to be the worst of them all though....like nails on a chalkboard.

Ball/Tomlinson are enjoyable to listen to, but Gord Miller and Ray Ferraro for me

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Hughson is the best Play by Play announcer in North America. And while I like Craig Simpson because he's knowledgeable, he's also dull-as-dishwater to listen to.

I'd still pay a little extra to hear Hughson and Don Taylor as PbP / Colour.

Hughson/Simpson followed closely by Shorthouse/Garret

Also, I'm clearly in a huge minority that actually likes Simpson. Shorthouse and Hughson are obviously way better, but I don't mind Simpson.

I wana bleed from my ears listening to hughson and Simpson. Used to love hughson but not anymore.

Cuthbert is a beauty. Shorty is great too but I think cuthbert is slightly more intriguing and he called some great games for us in the playoffs.

Cuthbert, larscheid would be my dream combo

The NHL is a fixed old boys club. I've come to acceptance with that and just watch for entertainment. The 2011 & 2012 Canucks are champs in my books.

At first I thought Weeks was horrible. His awkwardness grew on me though. Hrudey is awesome at pointing out how good Datsyuk is 100x though.

Love Shorty and Garrett.
Love Hughson but not Simpson - he doesn't seem to like the Canucks much
Cuthbert and Ferraro are decent

Best in the biz were Shorty and Tom Larscheid though. I miss Tom. Such a colourful personality, and some great one liners!
