thad
it will be a 1st rounder to get him. canucks can offer a second rounder but there are probably a few teams out there that will give there 1st round pick for him. so if the canucks really do want to get him they will have to pay the price. fagin
Tbh SJ is probably over valuing Clowe so they can get something out of him. It'll probably end up being a 2nd + prospect, with the 2nd being conditional. I'd do Corrado + 2nd for Clowe. Exactly the type if winger we need. Just imagine a top 6 of: Sedin-Sedin-Kassian Clowe-Kesler-Burrows
LeanBeef
Everybody hates us but its a different story when your thinking about cup chances. It's easy for me to say Stephen Harper is a dirty butthole but if I met him I'm sure I would think he's a pretty nice guy. I don't think having emotional rival games plays into where you want to play as much as everyone thinks. Sure it may play into it a bit but if you look at a team and think man if they only had me we could win it all, I'm sure it would outweigh the last face wash lapierre gave you. BananaMash
42 to 65 pts in each of his past 4 seasons. 6'2 225. If we had a good shot at re-signing him I'd do it. How many of our first round picks actually play for us?
timberz21
Gaustad, Fisher fetched a 1st. I could see teams maybe pitching in 2nd and a prospect, not much more. Clowe is meaner but not a defensive player, nor offensive. Fisher was better offensively and defensively and Gaustad was a defensive/faceoff specialist. Maybe a someone desperate like the Bruins with throw in a first.
RL.
Adding a player like Clowe could be the difference between a potential cup run or early playoff exit. He is primed for the playoffs, and while I don't have his playoffs stats in front of me (wouldnt matter on a new team anyways, different system), he could be that player that digs for pucks in the corners and wares down other teams defensemen. Adding a piece like him and Torres could be huge for this forward group, and when healthy, would be insane. Sedin-Sedin-Kassian Clowe-Kesler-Burrows Raymond-Schroeder-Hansen Higgins-Lapierre-Torres Booth With Kesler and Booth out for the next little bit, cap situation should not be a problem. The stars are kinda aligning cap wise like they did in 2011, where the dcore was insane when finally healthy. Hopefully there are some moves made, as this team has a chance to break out of the west if they click on all cylinders and more importantly, stay healthy. CB007
Bruins are also interested in him, 1st rounder plus prospect is the price as well
stonecoldstevebernier
First round pick? Is San Jose nuts? Nobody wants Ryane Clowe and his zero goals for a first rounder. Brenden Morrow (plus a pick) went for a prospect and a mid-round pick... and Morrow's much more valuable than Clowe.
CB007
Grabner, Hodgson, and Umberger don't play for us, but they're in the NHL. Bourdon (RIP) would have probably been a top defender on the team. Schroeder plays for us, Kesler plays for us, the Sedins play for us, Cory Schneider plays for us. Jensen and Gaunce look very promising. So, lots. canuck_trevor16
the chances of him waving his NTC here is very low..........good luck getting him since the Shark GM can't make the decision for him
canucks.brad
since 2008, he has averaged 50+ points (last season he got 45). he is under performing this year. i would love to get him.
BertuzziJr 2.0
People, Rodin, Sauve, Mcnally will not cut it. San Jose will simply not accept that, not to mention they will get way better offers. Possible deals : K-Nauts and a (2013) 2nd K-Nauts and a (2014) 1st Eddie Lack and a 3rd
BertuzziJr 2.0
I am a fan of Clowe, especially his playoff production. As we have seen San Jose has generally crumbled under the pressure of the playoffs. Stars like Marleau and Thornton and Heatley have seen their production slowed considerably after the reg season. Clowe however had 9 points in 13 games in 07-08. In 09-10 he had 10 points in 15 games and in 10-11 he had 15 points in 17 games. He is the type of guy that if we can acquire at a reasonable price can help push for a run. His goal scoring drought may be a blessing in disguise as his value may have dropped because of it. DooBie604
I would love to get him but not for that steep price. That's waaaaay too much for the way he is playing right now and there is no guarantee he will even re-sign here or play well next year. Those of you who are willing to pay this better not be the same people who complain that our prospect pool is shallow.

mcgillnuck
I kind of want him to end up on the Habs... He'd be a great fit there. Plus I don't want to give up a first.
