One can argue Booth is the same

I'd rather have Booth over Clowe if he didn't get injured so often. He's vastly underrated. It's too bad he's made of glass like Salo though.

He's having an bad season but im sure he will bounce back next year. When he's on his game, he's one of the meanest powerforward in the leauge. These types are hard to find, he's exactly what we hope Kassian will be.

20-25 goal guy with alot of hits and an intimidating presence on the ice. I'd say go for it.

The 1st might be steep for a pending UFA, but if we win the Cup its all worth it.

Absolutely. Clowe is a rare player, having a terrible year. His terrible year is a blessing in disguise, as it could lower his asking price to re-sign. Clowe at 3.5-4m would be an amazing Booth replacement, if Booth is let go in the off-season. And Clowe has already commented on how he likes Kassian's game, so maybe that would be a great pairing. Kass could learn a lot.

They're the poster boy for toughness. Gillis is trying to build this team like the Bruins/Kings. They're used more as a comparison.

They arent that tough anymore anyways... Toronto seems to intimidate them (well at least int the games I've watched)

Mark Fraser took care of that prick McQuaid who doesnt seem so tough this year...
Lucic seems scared after watching Scott take care of Thornton
Chara is his usual self only going after guys he knows he can bully
Thornton took beatings from Orr and Scott already this year
MacDermid barely gets any playing time
Ference is too busy being a pylon to play tough

The refs will put the whistles away for the playoffs and I guarantee you'll see the old dirty Bruins come out to play.

Kings outhit us most of the time... But our players seemed to intimidate them. I remember seeing Kassian ask Clifford and Greene to go plenty of times. Nolan also didnt oblige after Bitz hit. Bieksa pushed Brown and Richards around a ton as well. Even Rome pulled a Marchand on Martinez.

And the goals lol

and the luck :(

he would have had at least 6 goals before his injury if it werent for good saves or lucky bounces, Kassian made some great plays for him

Bieksa is scared of the Bruins, he looked like a Sedin against them after game one. Same thing happened in last years game, he looked like he was going to get a heart attack everytime one of em touched him, pissed me off.

true, he hated him even when they were teammates

Thats because he was the only legit tough guy in the lineup lol, that would change with Clowe/Kassian and Sestito in the lineup.

Tbh SJ is probably over valuing Clowe so they can get something out of him. It'll probably end up being a 2nd + prospect, with the 2nd being conditional.

I'd do Corrado + 2nd for Clowe. Exactly the type if winger we need. Just imagine a top 6 of:

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
Clowe-Kesler-Burrows

True.

Remember how tough our team was woth O'Brien, Rypien, Hordichuk, and Brown?

Bieksa acted like no one could touch him, especially against the Blackhawks

I wonder if there is any possibility we are able to get them to take on Booth's contract in a Clowe deal if we throw in some picks/ prospects..probably not but Gillis might have some magic in him

Welcome to the trade deadline.

He'll likely be had for a 2nd and a prospect.

I'd give them Sauve and a 2nd.

I would do this. Then maybe Booth, Rodin or Connauton and a 4th for Jagr?

Healthy line up

Sedin - Sedin - Jagr
Clowe - Kesler - Burrows
Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen
Higgins - Lapierre - Kassian

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler - Garrison
Ballard - Tanev

Schneider
Luongo

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

42 to 65 pts in each of his past 4 seasons. 6'2 225. If we had a good shot at re-signing him I'd do it. How many of our first round picks actually play for us?

Five: D. SEDIN, H. SEDIN, KESLER, SCHROEDER, SCHNEIDER.

i would. he is the type of player the Canucks need for a playoff run.teams that win cups usually take a chance on a rental player at the trade deadline.

Most I would give up is a secondary prospect and a 2nd

I'd be willing to go

Clowe

Connaughton 2nd

I'd even be willing to put a conditional 1st instead of 2nd if we reach the finals if it got it done. No straight up first rounder or one of our top prospects though.

They could get him cheap.. he hasn't scored a goal this season. MG should play this to his advantage.
