Here's what the future up front for the Flames looks like,
Baertschi(5'10) - Alex Kohkhlachev(5'10) - John Gaudreau(5'9)

They definitely need to draft some size, Baertschi is the only player in their system who everyone knows will be a star.

From the Iggy trade they got Agostino and Hanowski. Agostino is projected as a 3L fwd and Hanowski as a 2nd liner.

Didn't Calgary get screwed here!?

they gave away Iginla for a 1st and a couple of no name prospects? wtf?! I thought for sure they could get more! If the price was so low, I think the Canucks could've even traded for him

I'm going to say that there won't be much of a change any time soon. Moving one great player isn't every thing. This team needs a total rebuild. The problem is that it should have been done a few years ago. With the mess left buy Sutter people would have understood a rebuild. That they didn't get. Things have gotten worse. I think ownership has too much say along with Feaster not having a clue. I think it's just a puppet show and not much is going to change with the building selling out.

it sucks, just when I thought we are done with one tanking team, (Edmonton) in comes another one. !@#$ sakes, they really should make the draft rules a little more harsh.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

Hockey's future has them at 7.0 C, which means they may reach potential, could drop 2 ratings. The 7.0 rating does mean 2nd line potential, but these two players are not a lock as 2nd liners, maybe a tweener (Raymond like).

In Feaster's defense, (and believe me, it pains me to do so) the impression I get is that Iggy really wanted to go to Pittsburgh and vetoed the Boston deal, which was likely better for the Flames.

In Feaster's defense? He should of traded him last year when he was coming off a 43g 86p season and a year left on his contract but now he waits until almost trade deadline and Iggy is old and is a UFA.

Should of traded him when his value was high not at it's lowest

Should "have" traded him last year.

And yes, he should have. However, we were discussing the poor return he got from Pitssburgh this year. There seems to be some question as to whether he might have gotten a better return from the Bruins or someone else, had Iggy not insisted of the Pens.

The Bruins deal wasn't much better. Poor return is a given now that he's 35 and a ufa at the end of the year. Just imagine what NYR/ Pittsburgh/ anyone else would of paid for Iginla last year or 2 years ago.

There's no defense for Feaster for waiting this long to rebuild

Iggy will be back in Calgary next year as Captain .. back where he can slowly skate into obscurity .. ask around .. the reason Brent Sutter quit as coach was Iggy .. Calgary will NEVER be successful with him there .. so I hope he signs for 4 more years and drags the Flames into the muck ..

4 years at $7 million eh Feaster? .. :towel:

I understand the need for size. But, I don't think being small means these suckers can't succeed. Marty St. Louis, Patty Verbeek and Theo Fleury are just a few examples that size isn't a deterrent. Late-

Jankowski is actually looking pretty good, I've seen some of the providence games. Kid can dangle and seemed grow in height since the draft. At 6ft 3in if he puts on some weight could pan out for Flames.

One of the no namers in the Iginla deal actually made some clutch plays as Yale upset Minnesota. Feaster might look stupid now, but we really won't know until these guys make it to the NHL if they ever make it.

Actually for the most part there is. Ownership has been refusing rebuild. I read some articles stating that sutter was let go because he was pushing rebuild from the start.
