[Trade] Iginla to Pittsburgh

Cox is out to lunch; a first round pick is a first round pick.

Can anyone tell us about the prospects also included?

And best wishes to Iggy and the Pens in the East! Pretty easy to cheer for Iggy and Crosby; good Canadian kids!

Can never wish an eastern or American team wins a cup though!

Derp; Uhmmm > Go Canucks Go! :towel:

Cox could be dead wrong actually and ironically.

The Flames did get something for Iginla. They definitely got themselves a first round pick. That pick could turn out to be a Tyler Seguin or a Dougie Hamilton.

They could also get themselves Iginla, right back home, in a few months, after a fairly fun playoff run.

They set their captain free for a few months to have a shot at a Cup, and then Feaster throws some more mad money, as he tends to, at Iginla as a UFA to bring him back home.

This could be a very good deal for the Flames actually. The unconditional 1st leaves that possibility open - and a couple decent college prospects not that far from NHL ready...

The Flames tank a little more, get a higher pick, and have a pair of picks in the first round.

Could be a win/win for them if Iggy indeed is leaving on collaborative/favourable terms - to where he wanted to go on playoff vacation.

Who knows? Not Cox, that's for sure.

No when he won 4 Vezina and 2 harts or what ever the hell it was with buffalo.

He seriously played like Cory is now for 4 years and singlehandedly beat team Canada in the Olymics.

Not saying Cory will do that but it has happened.

Not that much?

Add Kassian, subtract Torres. One can fight, the other can hit.

Add Sestito, remove Manyy. A big net loss! But we can fight better.

Add Garrison, remove Erhoff. Certainly bigger, better?

Remove Salo, Much bigger role for Tanev. Not that bad but we're smaller...

If its about size tell me we're better? I'm not so sure...

Quick had to play lights out for most of the year last year to get the Kings into the playoffs. He had to constantly win 1 goal games to give his team a chance.

There's a modern day example of a goalie who isn't a legend but was able to play lights out for an extended period of time. He's just trying to say it's possible.

Despite none of this is being on topic, I posted this because it seemed like this poster was being ganged up on.

As we've all learned, the favourites never win the Cup. It's easy to think the Penguins are favourites, but their defence is still suspect and hasn't changed much since last season.

Letang just broke his foot. He'll probably be back just in time to start the playoffs, but will be back rusty, and Murray won't be seeing top-2 minutes. A good coach will analyze their blowout losses against Philadelphia and dissect this defence apart.

The way it's going right now, the only teams that can beat Pittsburgh are ones with a hot goalie and solid defence. Here's looking at you New York, Boston, Montreal and Ottawa. Either a goalie puts up record numbers to stop Crosby and co. or the Penguins win the Cup in under 20 games.

well of course it is, but why bring up schneider in the first place.

in the end, you're still putting him in the likes of dominik hasek, regarded as one of the most unique and influencial goalies in the modern era, to cory schneider
