Definitely not unbeatable I doubt they win the cup, their stars are injury prone, D is average and Fleury is fragile.
Look at Colorado in 03-04, they are even more stacked than the pens, Sakic, Forsberg, Tanguay, Hejduk, Selanne, Kariya, Blake, Foote and Liles. What about those stacked Rangers teams in the early 2000s they never got anywhere. I'm guessing conference finals at best for this team.

Everyone handing the Cup to the Pens need to relax. dont you guys remember how stacked the Avs were when Selanee, Kariya, Blake, Foote all signed cheap ass contracts to play for the Avs in 2004 and create the dream team? well they didnt win the cup. lol

Soooooooo, Pens are winning the Cup.

hehe... not if someone messes up Malkin's knee, gives Crosby a concussion, takes Iginla and Morrow off their game, and plays dirty against them....

Calgary really blew this trade. This was their big asset that they were going to use to catapult them into future success.....and then they get 2 college players who aren't even top 10 prospects for the Penguins and a late 1st. Common sense suggests that maybe if they would have waited a week a team would have gotten more desperate and made a move. Maybe, god forbid, they could have had a bidding war between PItt and Boston.

Very much this; if I were Jay Feaster I would've sold much earlier and tried to get what Rick Nash brought the Jackets in the offseason, because while people criticized Howson then that's still a MUCH better return than this! I mean how do the Flames not get top young prospect(s) and pick for Iginla at least?

Oh well, thanks for taking the basement in the standings for the next while with this trade. Makes me wonder then, will Kipper reconsider accepting trades now? With Feaster's negotiation it doesn't seem like he'll get much in return but w/e I could care less if that franchise indeed ends up in flames

Then again, Shero's basically turned his team into Team Pennsylvania 1B, with strong offense but questionable D and goal-tending. If it were my decisions I would've made some defensive acquisitions first and left the offense as is (since Sid and Geno can make anyone/ anything supporting a hockey stick look talented)

John 3:16

2012, meet Matthew 24:36-47!

Pens should trade for Lu now. Bring in more team Canada, deal with the goalie mess in the offseason.

Selanne and Kariya had bad years from the start. People were writing Selanne off then but after the he came back

The really pathetic sign is CAL fans now looking for success in Iginla winning a Cup in PITT.

because Iggy chose to go to the Pens. He's got a NMC and it's well in his rights.

as speculated there's little chance Pittsburgh can re-sign Iggy in the off-season. He may very well be back in Calgary after he wins a cup (;) )

Johnny Gaudreau>any Casucks

Edler, Markstrom, Hansen, 2nd round pick 2014 to Islanders for Ryan Strome, 5th overall pick 2014

This is fairly even as well.

No surprise, Iginla goes to the Penguins. And, wow! The Penguins are stacked! Maybe the Canucks should just tank it and get Drouin! :P

Just kidding.

The only way to even come close to competing against the Penguins now is to trade Schneider for a king's ransom.

With 11M in Cap space and 16 players signed, out of Iginla, Morrow, Kennedy, Cooke, and Dupuis, Iggy is probably the most likely to be offered a lucrative contract from Shero.

People are ripping apart this trade but you gotta understand it was Pittsburgh or bust for iggy. Iginla deserves every right to be traded to a legit contender. It was very classy of feaster to acknowledge that.
