J529
Look at what Pittsburgh has done. Reason being is the cap comes down next year, hence why Pens were very aggressive in acquiring Iginla, Morrow and Murray. Granted Canucks don't have the assets it would take to do what Pens did. The argument can be made not to mortgage the future, but what future do we have? Aside from Jensen, we have nothing in the way of good prospects. Canucks window for winning is closing. I fully expect all Gillis will do at most is acquire a 3rd line Center and that will be it.

Ghostsof1915
Yeah I'm pretty sure we can get Toews, Alfredsson, and Rick Nash for Alberts, Luongo, and Raymond.

70seven
Maybe not "all in", but if the right deal is there, you make it. If Lui gets moved, Im sure whomever is in on him, waits untill the last minute to see if Gillis really just wants to dump him.... While the rumor of Nonis' offer of a 2nd rounder + a "C" level prospect is out there, Im sure the Canucks can squeeze a bit more than that, but will likley have to also wait till the last minute before seeing how much teams really want Lui. Dont really think it goes much more "all in" than that..... possibly a few picks for the right player... Ott and Ribeiro would be nice fits here imo. Apples
MG always makes minor trades at the trade deadline. Doubt anything will change
Special Ed
Yeah we just magically go all in and acquire all the players we need right? CDC you never cease to amaze me in thinking you can do a GMs job.

The Brahma Bull
I'll be happy if we can get Steve Ott. No point in going all-in this year when the Penguins have already done it.
Legend Killer
Pittsburgh drafted very well, that's the difference.
CanucksFanMike
We should do our best to acquire some depth parts (preferably a center) but we dont want to wreck our future just to have a slightly better chance to win this year.
J529
Besides a 3rd line Center, they also need a Sniper. Canucks are so lackluster and aren't generating much offence or scoring many goals. There's been the argument that the Canucks are playing down to other teams level, but reality is they've been playing like this the whole shortened season. If Gillis does next to nothing at the deadline, which is expected then it will be another 1st round playoff exit and short series at that.
