CanucksFanMike
Leopold for a 2nd and a 5th is the deal.... via NHL.com The St. Louis Blues have acquired defenseman Jordan Leopold from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a second-round and a fifth-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft. Leopold has eight points (two goals) and is a minus-6 in 24 games for the Sabres this season. The Blues will be his sixth team in a career that began in 2002-03. The 32-year-old has played the past three seasons for Buffalo. St. Louis' next game is Monday at the Minnesota Wild. If St. Louis advances to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, St. Louis will send its fourth-round selection to Buffalo instead of its fifth-round choice. The Golden Valley, Minn., native was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round (No. 44) of the 1999 draft.
Belsy91
Solid pick up for the Blues, they will win a series, so the trade is pretty fair for both sides imo.
theminister
That's a steal for Buffalo.
c00kies
Looks like a sellers market (minus goalies) this year, with overpayments/ pricey pieces for buyers (unless you're Feaster and get ripped off for the best available player).
Apple Juice
Wish we had him but Leopold won't solve our right handed defensemen problems... I'm not sure what New Jersey's take is, guessing they're making a playoff push, but if we could snag Marek Zidlicky from them for a couple late draft picks, or just picks in general, that'd be a good steal. Right handed shot. Big shot. Adds veteran leadership as well.
SabreFan1
He's a good d-man with an offensive upside. St. Louis is lucky that they got him. It's definitely a fair trade. This is the lousy thing, having to dump good players in order to get your team back on track. Hope he does well with the Blues.

oldnews
Funny thing is that Leopold has scored 25 goals for Buff in two years and this season, while Ehrhoff has only 8 in a year and this... Who'd'a thunk that? I agree with the other posters - the prices for rentals seem excessive...but this isn't as bad as what Shero paid for Murray.
