NYI, yes. WSH was heavily speculated but somewhat denied. But I can confirm both these teams along with TOR are in discussions with VAN for Luongo as of tonight.

Comeon MG. Wash and NYI are great trade partners.

Streit, Nino, Nabokov
For
Lu, Ballard, Sweatt

Am told tonight that the #Capitals, #Islanders, and of course the #Leafs are all in the mix for the #Canucks in a potential Luongo trade

pipe dream but

dipietro (isles eat half of his salary)
conditional 1st ( NYI make playoffs 1st + 2nd) (dont make playoffs 1st)
nino

luongo

sign climie and bring him up to backup schneids who can play 10 of the last 12 games easily. Doesnt do much for us right now, but would allow them to move another draft pick for a rental forward.

Canucks would amnesty buyout Dipietro at half value which would be 12million.

highly unlikely i know with all the moving parts but would be a nice return to help reshape this team post-sedins.

Luongo for a 1st round pick + whatever else we can get.

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Washington does not need Luongo, they are already invested in Holtby as their number one. Anybody actually pay attention to the other teams out there ?

Let's trade with losing teams that have players losing every night and eventually develop a losing mentality. That's just going to wake up the Canucks as a group and make them realize what's at stake here. Let's have players from both Florida and Toronto come in and tell our beloved Canucks how to win and help them in that matter.

Yes, let's spend what we don't have and get the prominent garbage other losing teams don't want for something we don't need.

At this point, there is only one player from Florida I would not mind getting and that it Campbell. He's won a Stanley Cup with Chicago and knows how to win. ALL other pieces Florida has to offer are either afflicted by a losing mentality or are too young and will not be able to help this team for this year and then some.

Out of Toronto, Kadri, vanRiemsdyk, Franson, Phaneuf of Lupul are best bet. Kadri is very young and has not had this loser mentality set in yet and can be saved. vanRiemsdyk was with Philly, Philly was winning. Now he's with Toronto, Toronto is winning. Need not look elsewhere. Franson is one humongous specimen and would certainly help as he is a right handed shot. Phaneuf is one nasty piece of equipment for a team looking to do some damage and the prospects of the playoffs could be enticing for him. Lupul, even though he doesn't have a Cup, wa spart of some very successful Anaheim teams in the past. No Bozak, no loser, no thank you.

Enough of this humbled Englishman Canadian I'm sorry bullsh*t.

You want to win, you bring in winners.

Y'know we got Luongo from Florida and he hadn't won anything. Still hasn't really in terms of NHL awards.

Unless Luongo fetches us a top 6 forward with size I say we keep him till summer.

I agree with you. Lui always comes on here and says Canucks are interested in someone and never has a source.

I think the Islanders would be the best trade partner if Luongo wants to accept a trade.
I'd target Nino and/or Hamonic.
Streit would be good but he'd left deman and will command quite a bit of doe next year. Not my cup of tea for a rental would rather stock up on prospects
Nino
Hamonic
2nd
Nabokov / Depietro (depending if Aquilini wants to buy him out in the summer)
///
Luongo
Raymond
depth d//forward

Gear up for a playoff run for NYI

The only reason I say get prospects for next year is that the cap is dropping next year and booth will be back in time for playoffs. While I don't think Booth is a saviour by any means but he still takes a top 6 spot.

OH Right and Grabner + Raymond gets reunited!!!

And how many the rest of the game genius?? Backup goaltender is a very hard position, extremely tough mentally and physically.

Hang on a second. That's not what Luongo supporters were saying last year when trying to downplay Schneider's statistics.

Islanders wont want luongo and a lesser d man for their top 2 in streit and best prospect in nino

Nabakov is having a decent enough season and getting scoring from Tavares, moulson, okposo, etc. I dont think dumping streit for a lesser defenceman in ballard is in the cards.

Do some of you guys even look at the performance of other teams / players?

Yup. Also if LUongo was with the Islanders right now, they will be a good in 5th or 6th right now rather then hanging in at 8th. Nabakov has been good but not great. Of course counter argument is "well look at L uongo" true but we all know Luongo plays better when not on a pressure filled city like Long Island.
