I think the Islanders would be the best trade partner if Luongo wants to accept a trade.
I'd target Nino and/or Hamonic.
Streit would be good but he'd left deman and will command quite a bit of doe next year. Not my cup of tea for a rental would rather stock up on prospects
Nino
Hamonic
2nd
Nabokov / Depietro (depending if Aquilini wants to buy him out in the summer)
///
Luongo
Raymond
depth d//forward

Gear up for a playoff run for NYI

The only reason I say get prospects for next year is that the cap is dropping next year and booth will be back in time for playoffs. While I don't think Booth is a saviour by any means but he still takes a top 6 spot.

OH Right and Grabner + Raymond gets reunited!!!

That would work great for both teams. Didn't Nino also ask for a trade? If the Islanders are truly in on Lu this should work.

We should look at McBain too. His value is lower cause he has been in the doghouse. He still has another year left at 1.8 after this one. And though has been stagnant offensively still brings that offensive element and perhaps just needs a spark.

I'm not sure what it would cost, I would think Carolina would want a roster piece. And we don't have much. Maybe we take Jokinen back as a cap dump and throw a guy like Alberts back with an additional piece(s) probably. He would probably offer the same quality of play. It would be similar to the Lombardi/Franson for Ledba deal Toronto made a few years back.

Are we expecting a back-up goalie in return of any Luongo deal???

I would think Nabokov would come back in a deal with NYI, Neuvirth with a Washington deal and Reimer/Scrivens in a TO deal

Probably not in return in the same deal

Not ruling it out, but Gillis would probably look for an experienced backup to bring in (via trade), or bring up Matt Climie (as per Farhan Lalji)

not a chance . Mcnally made a mistake in life. He cheated on f in exam. It's not like he commited Murder. there's no way he will make a 28 points in 34 game 20 year old dman walk out free. Those are extremely impressive stats for a freshmen, even much more impressive it was done by a defencemen.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

http://bleacherrepor...d-top-prospects

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.

Sorry... I have major luongo fever since he carried my country to a gold medal and my team to game seven of the finals.

I know this isn't a Luongo bashing thread but Goddammit!
Luongo did not carry the Canadian OLYMPIC team to the gold medal, and he didn't carry the Canucks to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup! He prolonged the SCF by being hot and cold the whole way through and we ended up losing anyways! Did you enjoy watching the loss of the Stanley Cup on our home ice Apollo? I know I didn't, so why dont we stop talking as though Luongo is some lord of the goaltending position and that losing the Stanley Cup in 4 blowouts is some great accomplishment as well, ok.

2 things

1.If that Doug Maclean story was true, that someone inside the Panthers organization told Luongo they were going to trade for him (and then didn't) than is that not tampering?? I mean then GMs all over the league could have ppl do that to players they are trying to acquire to get the other teams in a worse position...sounds fishy...especially as Luongo said that if he had known they would back out, he would have accepted the TO trade in July...sounds like tampering to me...

2.FLA seems unwilling to move A-/B+ prospects like Bjugstad, Petrovic...
what about guys like Corban Knight, Vince Trochek...more B/B+ prospects that were drafted late but may still become very usefull NHLers???

Trochek
Knight
2014 first

for

Luongo

????

Calm down guy. Luongo did carry Canada to gold, in front of a National and local home crowd. If you noticed, the arena was full of Canadians; not Vancouver fans. They cheered on. How about that Brodeur guy?

Luongo also carried this team to a 7th game in the SCF. Scoring and injuries did the Canucks in. Luongo's meltdowns are system related, not a reflection of Luongo's ability to perform. If you look at the last two games, you will see that same pattern. now is it that Schneider has the same tendencies of collapse as Luongo or is it that the team has a tendency to lay a massive on in front of either goaltender?

You will be pleassantly surprised to see Luongo perform very will during the playoffs for i do not believe Schneider has what is required as he stil has some learning to do.

Hate it or love it... the champ is here to stay.

You'll all thank your lucky stars when he leads us to the promise land.

LUUUUUUUUUUUUU

That's right. Schneider's three playoff games is too minuscule a sample to bet the farm on this guy. With Luongo, the Canucks are much stronger in net than with just Schneider. I personally don't like the last two games and get me worried Schneider has had his streak of excellent hockey which, as per the average Vancouver fan's mentality, he will be measured by from then on; a recipe for total utter disaster.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

However, Luongo's numerous playoff collapses is a large enough sample to be confident improvement isn't likely.

I'd like to see him on Long Island.

conditional first-round draft pick, 22-year-old defenceman Mark Cundari and 26-year-old Swiss goaltender Reto Berra for Bouwmeester.

If we want to trade bob at the deadline, use this trade as a benchmark

cause you dam well know Nonis is.

If it's true the Isles are kicking tires,

Luo, Ebbett
Cizikas, 1st, 3rd, Nabokov (UFA rental).

NYI loses nothing for their run, swaps goalies and a young C, where they have tons of depth, for a veteran c.

NYI's 3rd, 2014 2nd.
McBain.

Pikanen's injury may interest them in Ballard instead of a 2nd - ideally not, in which case Ballard provides depth and insurance for the playoffs, and can be moved in the offseason to recover the pick and create cap space.

Rodin, 3rd, 4th.
Bryan Boyle.

Sedins Burrows
(Booth) Raymond Kesler Roy
Higgins Cizikas Hansen
Boyle Lapierre PInizzotto/Weise

(Jensen Schroeder Kassian - youth line on reserve.)

Hamhius Garrison
Edler Tanev
Ballard Bieksa
Alberts McBain

Schneider
Nabokov
(Lack)

True but a far cry from Hamonic, Bozak, and all the other crazy things coming out of this thread.that is why this will happen when it needs to happen, to get capspace the summer. Big contracts are not very valuable with the cap coming down.

Perhaps Florida approached Gillis about an offer and Gillis asked Luongo if he would waive his NTC for Florida. Therefore, Luongo had the notion that Florida was interested this whole time. Perhaps the Weiss injury had changed what Florida was capable of offering and forced Florida to have to back out.
