The Brahma Bull
There were rumours that Higgins wouldn't re-sign if they re-signed Torres. I have no idea if that is true or not, but I remember reading that on hfboards awhile back.
Ilya Mikheyev
Not the least bit interested in seeing Raffi in Vancouver again.
Canucks_Hockey_101
If we can get him for cheap sure. 4th is the most I would go. Nothing of real good value though.
Smashian Kassian
Except some legal but near career ending hits that look so damn bad the refs see no choice but to penalize him? I'll take a Torres any day. He puts fear in top players.

RunningWild
Gillis should have signed him 2 yrs ago when he walked as a UFA. How would it look if he gives up assets/picks to acquire him now? Not good I tell ya. But I do really like ol' Raffi. He's very effective in little TOI. Plus, we need another red-head. After Sulzer left, Gillis never met the quota last summer. Edit: I remember reading on the HF Boards that Higgy and Torres had a beef. Something about Higgy refusing to resign that summer if they signed Torres. Anyone remember reading that? Gollumpus
Just to twist things around and look at it from a different perspective: does anyone think that Torres might not want to come back to Vancouver? regards, G.

rotiman187
I would LOVE Torres back Hansen-Lapierre-Torres. Best 4th line in league when their game is on. Make it happen!
bloodycanuckleheads
Yes Gillis, trade away more assets instead of paying the extra few hundred thousand... What an idiot.
etsen3
Yes please, he's been doing well in Phoenix. He's on the last year of his contract, which means no commitment needed which is what MG wanted. GITRDONE
Gustavo Fring
You are all forgetting that we were over the cap that year (and had to do somersauts to get compliant, incl. using millions in LTIR space). So, by paying Torres just a few hundred thousand more - that basically means we would have had to lose another player somewhere...
zombieksa
It was TERMS. It was never about the money. Torres wanted long term security. Gillis only offered a one year deal...
