Ride the red Pony
In a cap free world this may be feasible, It is time to take one goalie and run with him win or lose. IMO they are both very good goalies, and either of them can be relied on to go on a good playoff run, at first I was of the mindset that Lou was the only one that should be moved, as CS was anointed the starter, younger etc. but in terms of return Special Ed makes a good point, whatever brings the "TEAM" the best return should be moved. With that being said, and if there was a scenario where CS was moved, how would Lou react to being unveiled as the #1 again with all that has gone on? MG has placed himself in a precarious position here, especially after deeming Lou captain, then signing him to a very long contract and now trying to move what he hailed as the face of the franchise and long term solution to goaltending. Perhaps it was more the play of CS that has put MG in this precarious position, some would say it's a nice position to be in, not so much when you have over 9 million dollars tied up into goaltending on a team that has so many holes to fill. So although it would be nice to keep both, it just isn't feasible to do so.

Tangelos
Laughable that MG thinks he can get a solid prospect, roster player and pick for Luongo. He has backup numbers right now. Barely above .900 sv%! Why would anyone trade for him when they can just go after Jason Labarbera on a much cheaper contract supporting a .918 sv%? Luongo is worthless with those numbers and contract so MG should just shut up and take whatever is being offered and run. Giving him up for nothing is better than holding on to him for a ridiculous asking price because with his contract off the books we can actually make some signings on free agency.
