As per David Pollak@PollakOnSharks3h
On the Clowe front: BOS, but not MON on scouts list tonight. Both teams watched #SJSharks vs. DET. Also here: Mike Gillis, Canucks GM.

Can speculate all we want who he is looking at, he normally throws a curveball when we think we know who he is targeting.

Top two that come to mind would be Clowe or Torres

One day some of us will look back on the year and look at the chicago, and most of us will realize that it was a small bump in the road to the cup

I'd welcome Torres back into a Canucks uniform, although help on the wings really isn't our biggest need right now. It's down the middle. Gordon would be good too, we could use his faceoff prowess and defensive stability. I'm not sure we have the assets to win a Clowe sweepstakes... Boston's going to be hungry after losing out on Morrow and Iginla.

I know its not happening, but Martin Hanzal would be incredible.

I would love Hanzal, not sure if Phoenix would trade him tho. Can only hope

Biznasty's coming to the Canucks! We'll have the best one-two Twitter punch in the league with him and Strombone1.

Is it sad that I would actually like to see him just so we would have someone with an actual personality on the team once Luo goes?

Our team is a bunch of really boring personalities. Bieksa is funny sometimes but comes across as a douche most of the time. Kesler is just a whiner. Everyone else just screams out boring and passionless.

Overrated. Vrbata is only good in a set system. Would bust here.

There's a reason why he's only been putting up good points in Phoenix and busted pretty bad in Tampa.

Blame the media for that. Luongo was the same way with the media before this season, so would you call him boring and passionless? Exactly.

Just because the players don't want to cause a stir in front of the camera it doesn't mean they have no personality off camera.

95% of the league is boring and passionless if we go by what you just said.

Okay Gillis, take your finger out of your butt and make a trade. Don't wait till the deadline and then overpay for washed up plugs.

We play a defensive system too like Phoenix.

How bad could he be, he brings alot of talent to the table and can be a legitimate 1 shot scoring threat.

Also he played less than 20 games for Tampa, thats not a large enough sample size to say he can only produce offense in Phoenix.

If we can get him at a decent price, I will take him over some of the other options out there.

We will have to overpay for washed up players, or any player, right now too.

Trades just aren't easy to make unless we want to overpay with a price that doesn't make sense.

I'm sure there's lots of good players that could be had for mid round picks. Just gotta be creative and go for the players that are undervalued.

Like Higgins and Lapierre.

Most likely looking at Antoine Vermette or Ryan Clowe. Highly doubt all this Raffi Torres rumblings, as does Botch.

He's worth more to Phoenix. Still, by the season if over. Vrbata would still not understand the Canucks system. He won't know what he's doing. You'll be lucky if Vrbata even plays 20 games this season if he is acquired.

Doesn't help this team. Much better offering more for Jagr/Clowe.

Thats exactly what i think he'll do... he likes old washed up vet with tons of character and playoff experience... which means he could possibly be looking at Steve Sullivan. lol

MY expectation for an impact trade on Wednesday is very low. This team is a playoff team but not a threat to the Cup. Too many holes to fill for Gillis on TD.

Actually, there are a whole lot of players in this league who have a personality. Even more importantly, there are players and coaches who actually give a crap enough about losing to say so......not on the Canucks though.

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.
