The Ryane Clowe trade rumours could be coming to an end soon.

According to a CSNCalifornia.com report, the San Jose Sharks have spoken to the pending unrestricted free-agent's representatives about waiving Clowe's no-trade clause, and that a deal could be completed as early as Sunday.

The report states that the Boston Bruins, who missed out on Jarome Iginla, Montreal Canadiens, and New York Rangers are believed to be the front runners for the 30-year-old.

In 27 games this season, Clowe has no goals and 11 assists.

The winger is in the final year of a four-year deal he signed with San Jose prior to the 2009-10 season, worth an average annual value of $3.625 million.

A native of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, Clowe has spent his entire eight-year career with the Sharks. He has scored 101 goals and 170 assists in 422 career games.

Clowe has appeared in 68 career post-season games with the Sharks, scoring 18 goals and 27 assists.

Originally selected in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Clowe is the fourth-highest Newfoundland-born player in NHL history.
