Bill Hoppe@BillHoppeNHL36m
Cody Hodgson centering fourth line between John Scott and Pat Kaleta.

John Vogl@BuffNewsVogl
Ron Rolston on demotion of Cody Hodgson to Sabres' fourth line: "He’s got to be better on the defensive side of things right now."

What does that say about golden boy, that he's centering the 4th line on a team with pretty much nothing down the middle.

AV and Gillis had it right, Hodgson sucks in the D zone.

Sabres need to fire Regier, bad trade.

They are doing it to give balance for all four lines. Hodgson gets to play against their weak fourth line and it has been working. Its not a demotion its a tactic

Stop trying to judge the trade based on 1 year.

Death is certain, replacing both the siren-song of Paradise and the dread of Hell. Life on this earth, with all its mystery and beauty and pain, is then to be lived far more intensely: we stumble and get up, we are sad, confident, insecure, feel loneliness and joy and love. There is nothing more; but I want nothing more.

Well, look at the other option. What line is Kassian on these days? Wait, where did he go?

Oh right... the AHL.

Not knocking Kassian. I think he's down there for conditioning, myself. But realistically, a shortened season like this is going to be hard for prospects. They don't have a lot of time on teams that need to push this year.

So what this means is he need to play in sheltered situations.

Gotcha.

I guess the golden boy isn't the superstar that would bump Kesler down after all.

Hodgson has been way more valuable to the Sabres than Kassian has for the Canucks thus far.

Sorry, fan boys. That's the truth. Make excuses all you want like AV is a dink for giving him minimal mintues, they don't change that fact.

In other news, a 4th liner in Buffalo has more points than every single Canuck this year besides the Sedins.

Lets see who makes a bigger impact in the playoffs....... oh Buffalo ain't gonna make it .... hmmm.
I honestly don't care what line CoHo is playing on I liked him as a nuck but now that he is not i only know his name and that he plays for buffalo and Kassian was had in a trade for said CoHo.

HEY! as of right now your right coho has more points and looks better offensively. But this is ammunition for us when everyone says "ooo look at kassian sent down to the ahl"

Ruff put him in a position to succeed. I wonder if he would do the same with our prospects.

Also, some of you need to get off of Hodgson's...

He's full of it, but I've heard that putting a star who can do it all by himself on the 4th line is a common strategy in some leagues (happened to Jensen I believe).

I've always wondered how Henrik or Kesler would look centering the 1st and 4th line. Maybe try it when there have been a lot of penalties and the Sedins haven't been playing at all. Otherwise you would totally embarrass yourself if it didn't work.

Why are we talking about an Eastern conference bottom-feeder team's 4th liner?
