On April 3rd Mike Gillis phones you and asks you to make all the trades for him at this years deadline,
however there are a few conditions, You can only trade for players that realistically could be moved. No crazy, superstar trades with unlikely candadites (ie. Stamkos for Schneider, Jensen, 1st. rd., & Kesler)

You are allowed to deviate away from the known trading block, however here are the candadites according to TSN:

Forwards:

Player - Position - Age - Height - Weight - Cap Hit - Years Remaining

Ryan Clowe - LW - 30yrs - 6'2 - 225lbs - 3.6 - 0 (UFA)

Tomas Fleischmann - LW - 28 - 6'1 - 192lbs - 4.5 - 2

Jaromir Jagr - RW - 41 - 6'3 - 240lbs - 4.55 - 0 (UFA)

Derek Roy - C - 29 - 5'9 - 184lbs - 4.0 - 0 (UFA)

Mason Raymond - LW - 27 - 6'0 - 185lbs - 2.3 - 0

Defensemen:

Player - Age - Height - Weight - Cap Hit - Years Remaining

Jay Bouwmeester - 29 - 6'4 - 212lbs - 6.68 - 1

Mark Streit - 35 - 5'11 - 193lbs - 4.1 - 0 (UFA)

Ray Whitney - 30 - 6'3 - 206 - 4.0 - 0 (UFA)

Filip Kuba - 36 - 6'4 - 225lbs - 4.0 - 1

Goaltenders:

Player - Age - Height - Weight - Cap Hit - Years Remaining

Ben Bishop - 26 - 6'7 - 215lbs - .650 - 0 (RFA)

Jonathon Bernier - 24 - 5'11 - 186lbs - 1.25 - 0 (RFA)

Mikka Kiprusoff - 36 - 6'1 - 185lbs - 5.833,333 - 1

Roberto Luongo - 33 - 6'3 - 217lbs - 5.333,333 - 9

What trades would you make? If it were me...

Lou, Schroeder, 1st for Kessel, Bozak

Garrison for Clowe

Raymond, 3rd for Bishop

When Healthy:

Sedin - Sedin - Kessel
Clowe - Kesler - Hansen
Higgins - Bozak - Burrows
Weise - Lapierre - Pinizotto

Edler - Hamhuis
Bieksa Tanev
Ballard - Barker

Schneider
Bishop

THIS:

Lecavalier had a terrible season and was flamed into submission for his poor play.

Yet, only 1 player on the Canucks scored more goals than him. That 1 player had 5 more goals (6 more points) but played 8 more games, averaged 6 and a half more minutes of ice a game, and took 107 more shots on net.

Kind of speaks volumes to how ugly the Canucks play was this past season.

I would trade for Torres otherwise the team is great. And I would also change the 4th line to..... Torres-Laprierre-Kassian.

i Would acquire Kiprussoff for Luongo

Mikka Kiprusoff is a playoff proven performer, he can carry is team to the cup, that's what we needed for years.

While Luongo is a goalie who can help a non-playoff team become a playoff team, it will be a step in the right way for Calgary.

I'd go:

To Dallas:
Ballard

To Van:
Jagr

To San Jose:
Picks (2nd/3rd)

To Van:
Clowe

Healthy lines with Kesler back would go:

Sedin Sedin Jagr
Clowe Kesler Burrows
Raymond Schroeder Hansen
Higgins Lapierre Jensen/Kassian

Hamhuis Bieksa
Edler Garrison
Barker Tanev

Schneider/Luongo

We would be stacked for a strong playoff run

Off season Kesler:
- Zamboni driver
- Save-on-foods grocery boy
- Tim Hortons worker
- Referee

- Ducks merchandise cashier

Trade the twins kesler burrows kassian hamhuis bieksa Hansen to Florida. Then I move there, find myself an dolled up hockey fan trophy wife, buy her fake boobs and a set of season tickets and enjoy my life lol

Seriously though my main targets are clowe and matthias.

1st and Sweatt
for
ryane clowe 3rd

Luongo Sauve
For
Matthias petrovic 2nd

Jensen gets a hatty tonight so we trade Raymond to Columbus for a 2nd or prospect

Sedin Sedin Jensen skill
Clowe Kesler Kassian power
Burrows Matthias Hansen shutdown
Higgins Lapierre Weise Grit

Hammer Garry
Eddy Juice
Ballard Tanev

Schneider
Don't care

Before you flame me for trading our first, remember Florida's second will be within a few picks after we win the cup haha.

With Bouwmeester going for a 1st + prospects, and Regehr going for two 2nds.
If I were GMMG, I would get off my butt and try to trade Ballard for a late 1st or early 2nd to some desperate playoff team. Instead of possibly using one of our buyouts this summer and letting him go for nothing....

Yup, Ballard is in the same class of d-men as Bouwmeester and Regehr. I am sure that other GM's would jump at taking on Ballard at 4.5 mil for a 1st rd pick.

I agree I don't see any moves that push us to the cup considering how strong some other teams look in comparison. We need to start fishing for picks and stock up on prospects this year.

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

Stats for the last 5 years

Ballard 16G 61A 78pts +18
Regehr 5G 44A 49pts -2

If not a LATE 1st rounder that I had suggested, at least two 2nds?
