I don't think this is a coincidence that this comes out two days before the deadline.

I think Gillis has already got his speech planned about how getting Kesler back is like acquiring a second line center.

he still will go after a center I think too much pressure on Schroeder on third line

One day some of us will look back on the year and look at the chicago, and most of us will realize that it was a small bump in the road to the cup

Kesler should take some time off even when the docs say he can play... Were going to need him to play big for us in the playoffs. He should maybe come back if the Canucks need him in the first round. Otherwise he should come back for the second round??

So much can happen in the next couple of days but after that each team has to work with what it has. No matter, I still think Gillis is going to get a center, maybe even 2.

Biggest trade deadline improvement in the West without having to give up anything.

There's little guarantee that the Canucks even get through the first round why would you hold Kesler out, he's been fundamentally out since last April. How long a training camp does he need to try and I emphasis TRY and get his game back 10- 12 games. Have you any idea what money is entailed with the play-offs and the need to generate income. Making it to the next round is essential if not you might be looking for a new owner, good gracious hold him to the second round :picard:

Kesler is coming back???? Whatever. Sigh.

With all his injuries (fluke related or not), it's been a long time since he was an award-winning 2nd line center, and last we saw him he wasn't even worth a 2nd line center.

Best case scenario is that he'll need half a season to get up to NHl game-ready (a conditioning stint in the minors would be useful, if his ego could suffer such a thing ;) ).

Worst case scenario is that he'll be intro'd after the Canucks' first round playoff exist and quoted as pretending he's not using his injuries as an excuse for his lack of performance. Heard it before, several times, very old.

Whenever he's declared fit. Add at least two games or one week whichever is longer.

He is officially a Ming vase IMHO so it will be interesting to see if he can even play at his old level of intensity. If he can't we all know what he will fall back on. It might not be pretty.

Why not wait for the third round? Or better yet, just meet down at Robson for the parade. He can go to Hawii for a couple months until then.

Gillis has his speech writer right down below here!

Biggest trade deadline improvement in the West without having to give up anything.

Course I'm on record already as having us require meaningful change to be a contender. Kesler helps, a lot, but not enough...

Great news but i'll believe it when it happens. It seems anytime management puts a time frame on a players return they're never right. If he does come back by the 8th that is ideal tho. Gives him 10 games to get back in game shape; sounds about right!.

What does Kesler's agent say about the timetable?. IIRC the canucks have underestimated Kesler's return date on multiple occassions.
And yep I can hear the "We didn't have to trade because Keslers back" speech playing in my head already.

I heard Kesler was so excited about returning that he suffered a brain cramp and will be out another 2 weeks.

Looks like a few of the teams in our conference are making some serious deadline acquisitions....we need more than Kesler coming back to keep pace.

Asked #canucks AGM Laurence Gilman about the results of Kesler's recent CT scan and he gave me a thumbs up. Kesler could be back in a week.

Which Kesler is coming back through? Nude model Kesler, or 40 goal Kesler.

hahahahahah. thread winner there.

im tryiing not to be mean but that kids comment was one of the dumbest posts ive ever read here.

this team is 2-3 pieces shy with Kelser in the lineup and the kid thinks Kesler can sit the first round out and this team will move on. my god the delusion.

Meh good news, but we still need a 3rd line centre, and I would also like to bring in a reliable full time 4th liner, and possible even a Top 6 forward to set up the 2nd line.

We also get a diving expert. Something this team has sorely missed.

Just yesterday I was hearing he'd be 2 weeks away from just skating with no contact. I'd still rather see him rested until a game or two before the playoffs.

And then what?...he does nothing? Again?

I'd like to see him in the next game and try to solve his inability to contribute during his ever so brief appearances. Last year Daniel came back with the team on the brink....and did nothing and sank with the rest. A rusty Kesler is just as useless in my opinion. Maybe he should do another calendar?

What is mister 2 hip, 1 shoulder, 1 foot surgery kesler going to do for this team? If you think your getting 40 goal scoring kes back, you need to wake up. Those days are gone.
