NUCKS4CUP 28
He was a d-Man in the QMJHL and played four 4 seasons. Rookie Season - 46 P, 59 GP Season 2 - 54 P, 72 GP Season 3 - 64 P, 63 GP Season 4 - 62 P, 67 GP Despite 226 points in 261 games has a ???? DEFENCEMAN he was drafted at 167th overall by the St. Louis Blues and only played 42 games in the NHL before retiring. So really, what was the deal with him being drafted so low? You think numbers like that would guarantee a 1st round selection, especially for a D-Man. Did he have some kind of underlying health issues or something? I just don't see why he would have been drafted at 167th overall and then not given a fair shot.
MashedBananas
Well, apparently he never reached low expectations with the Blues, so that may have something to do with it.
wallstreetamigo
How do you know he was not given a fair shot? Have you ever considered that maybe he just sucked at the NHL level? Like many other guys who could not translate their junior game to the NHL...... Maybe that's why he hates Ballard........wants to pay someone back who actually could bring an offensive game to the NHL by snuffing that ability out and benching him...... Rypien37
Teams became aware he was extremely angered with the fact he was not going to be able to chew gum while playing at the NHL level.
uber_pwnzor
Maybe he hates rookies because he felt neglected as a rookie... Hmmm....
Dazzle
Because high-scoring defenseman in the QMJHL is/was nothing special. The league is a weaker league and the ability of players to score there really doesn't justify his/her 'scoring potential'. There hasn't seem to be a defenseman from the QMJHL in recent memory that has been able to translate his game to the NHL.
timberz21
In Vigneault's last year in junior a guy on his team named Alain Lemieux (yes Alain, not Mario) had 166 pts in 60+GP. He was drafted 96th overall and played a total of 119 NHL games. PPG ratio then was twice as much as today's number.
cc_devil
I'd say it has something to do with hockey sense and lack of it. Which explains why all he knows how to do is line juggle.

Papayas
Scoring was a lot higher back in his day especially in junior...... His ppg was actually quite low back then

NUCKS4CUP 28
That's so true!! Jenson playing with the 4th line Sedin's... Give the guy a chance AV. Hodgeson getting 2nd PP time. What a joke. No rookie will ever succeed under AV.
