Not a fan of this trade. Roy is a rental and MG just gave up our best D prospect and 2nd round pick. This years team is not going to win the Stanley Cup. This trade is not worth the price that was paid.

K-Conn wasn't really ever going to get a shot in Vancouver. I prefer Anderson and Corrado over him. This is a good move but have the potential to be a great move if Roy resigns

He put up 81 points one year and has been a constant point getter, good for an average of 70ish points a season. He's at least a 2nd liner and not a "tweener"

LOL GOOD FOR AN AVERAGE OF 70 POINTS.

good luck with that one. I'd be surprised if he averages 55.

*In the East. I could put up 60 points in the East and I can barely stay up on skates :P

You realize that if this season was a full 82 games Roy would be on track for 60 points? Assuming Roy played all of them

I really liked Connautons's upside. he played his best the last 40 games or so. He really made a huge step in his development. With Frankie Corrado coming up, and with Price probably going to sign with us.... yea.... oh wells. Good trade though.

Connauton is by no means our best D prospect. Corrado, Mcnally are lightyears ahead of him.

I wouldn't use the word "light years" as Connauton shooting skills are probably better then alot of the dmans we have on the team. To me it's a loss, but we are very deep in defense prospects.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.

I like this, simply because of the fact that it's no longer going to limit the Luongo trade to needing a center. We could use him to get a RHD or something!

Tanev is an NHL'er, not a prospect. None of our D prospects left are ready to step in the line-up this year or next year.

And who's spot did you want KConns to take??

Terrible trade! An undersized UFA, at the end of his contract, for our best D prospect and a 2nd in a deep draft? Total fail. We're not exactly deep on prospects, and we just gave up two more for a 2 month rental

Tanev corrado andersson are all better prospects in my opinion

No way GMMG makes this trade unless he thought he could sign the guy.

Don't mind this trade at all. Canucks treated this season as a make or break for Connauton down on the wolves. They were hoping to see a jump in his development and it didn't happen. We're willing to let him go.

Corrado is the guy to keep anyways

Good move by GMMG. Looking at our D core going forward there isn't much room for K-Conn to fit in anyway. Hope Roy can come in and make an immediate impact on our offensive numbers. If he does, this is a good move.

Good trade. Now we have depth at centre. I can see MG trying to re-sign Roy at the end of the season. As people have mentioned, this could put kesler on the wing from time to time. Roy is an excellent playmaker. Once we get our injured players back we will be a dangerous team.

We are crippled with injuries, I don't get why people are trashing the way this team is playing when we have half an AHL roster at the moment.

Connauton is a RFA, probably good for both VAN and him considering his 1st ELC is over and he hasn't had a call-up.

Not very impressed with Roy's playoff numbers but he was probably the best C available at this time.

I agree. Connauton would not break our lineup for the next 4-5 years with Hamhuis, Edler and Garrison clogging up the left side. Bieksa and Tanev will also be stable on the right side, leaving only one spot available. Andersson may get it for a while until Corrado is ready.

Roy is in the last year of a 6 year $24million contract.
$4M a year for a 3rd line center? And he's going to want a raise.....

I'm only glad a need got addressed if this isn't the extent of the movement we see this year.

If we aren't going to make a run at another cup now then it would have been better to tank it this year, and be sellers.

Edler has a NTC kicking in this summer. As much as I like him, he hasn't been the same since Salo left, and new $$$$$..... Luongo deal might look a lot hotter if you add Edler to the mix.

Jagr is now in play as well. He may be older but he's still one of the smartest players in the game - how sweet do you think that brain along with his 6'3" 235lb frame would look playing with the Sedins?

A man can dream....

This is bitter sweet i really like Roy but i am a big K Connauton fan and imo given a chance would have been a big time defensemen for us.

He has all the tools more so then any of our current defensemen.

Dallas did well here also.

46.7% in the faceoff circle....

I'm not sold on this being a good move as yet... unless this move opens up something else major.
