Please avoid Clowe at all costs! Don't know why everyone wants him. He has 0 goals and can't skate.

I had a dream last night that Luongo was traded for Bozak and Franson but this is good too!

Could we ice a potential line up like this come playoffs?:

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
Higgins-Kesler-Burrows (shut down line)
Booth-Roy-Clowe
Sestito-Lapierre-Hansen

I find it unlikely that Kassian plays on the first line in the playoffs given his recent demotion, Burr will be with the twins.

Yeah, I don't really see it either. If he was on our team with 0 goals. Everyone would want him gone ASAP

Had a look at capgeek....
Apparently we are over now by $500,000?
http://capgeek.com/canucks/

If we put Booth on LTI does that allow us some extra space for another player?

After the Boston series CDC says we're too small. Now that we add Kassian, Booth, Sestito we're too big and not enough skill. Now we add Roy and he's too small.

GTFO.

Roy is a PROVEN offensive threat, get over your Gillis hate folks.

I'd say so. Can't see MG getting him if not. He doesn't seem to like rentals only

People have to remember Gillis is a magician with signing guys and negotiating contracts so don't jump to conclusions about Roy not resigning here. Wait and see.

There's no magic to it. He offers excessively long contracts and NTC's to everyone.

Not a chance. It's a pure rental. He'll get 5+ mil in the offseason.

Edit: actually if we do re-sign him, it will be a sign and trade.

I know Fracking IDIOTS. The Sedins are slowly regressing, we gotz to make moves to improve the team or trade the Sedins...

this is a great trade for the team. everyone calls for a trade then craps there pants when connauton gets dealt? CONNAUTON?? who cares! i'm willing to bet the people calling this a bad trade haven't been watching the wolves a whole lot this year. connauton was losing his playing time to andersson. his defensive game hasn't improved enough.

the second round pick is a bit worrisome though. who knows who that could end up being.

edit: wish the pick was conditional based on him resigning.

If the pick was conditional the trade would not be accepted by Dallas. There is a good chance Connauton will make no significant impact in the NhL.

Raymond for Clowe
4th pick for Torres
Luongo for Matthias, Howden, 2nd round pick
3rd and Rodin for Bishop

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Clowe Roy Kesler
Higgins Matthias Hansen
Torres Lapierre Kassian

The Canucks buy out Booth in the off season and lose Luongo off the books and possibly something is done with Ballard. Roy probably signs for somewhere around $4mil. Pretty easy to fit him in.

Except Roy want 6M. Not every player will sign a "discount" to play in Van.

Jesus you people have no idea in this canucks eco system on here, connauton had not been overly impressive at the ahl level, good defensively, bad defensively, and it was unclear if he could crack the nhl, a 2nd for roy and him is incredibly cheap, dallas fans not happy with the return.

Everyone on here overvalues our own prospects, other fanbases are praising this deal, hawks fans dont understand why they signed handzus and not him, anaheim fans upset they missed him for this low of asking price, but on cdc fans are appalled it costed us K-con.... and a late 2nd, unreal.

We will have alot of cap room to move next year so who knows if this is a rental, if he plays good with lou, ballard, and either raymond/booth being moved in the off season we could re-sign him if gillis see's fit. And I believe for people saying he wants 6 this started with kypreos on hc at noon and he actually said he wants closer to 6, did not hear him say hes asking for 6. And that all remains to be seen yet after the season is over.

The best part of this deal is what this allows Gillis to do with Luongo. Instead of looking for immediate assistance for Lu he can now trade him for the prospects we desperately need. Still crossing my fingers for Martin and Neiderreiter out of NYI.

"@MikeHeika: Jaromir Jagr to Boston. I'm hearing two prospects and a draft pick." Good work, Mike. #tradecentre

so do not expect jagr to be coming as well

Goes against MG's mindset of giving up youth for youth.
Yagr is the defn of an aged rental, not worth it at all IF he performs. If he craps the bed then we would have gotten fleeced. We have a shot of resigning Roy atleast and would not be giving up the future for nothing.

No. No. No. No.

The twins are going nowhere. They'll likely retire as second line players. And they'll retire Canucks.

I guess this means that Lou aint going to the Leafs.

Not going after Grabovski or Bozak anymore. IF those ever were options, but they were talked about.

There is still (D) Gardiner....or as D. Pratt likes to say Joffrey Lupul. Pratt is claiming that Lupul isn't going to be a part of the Leafs future. Uh - I don't know about that Dave...he's obviously a major part of their present! Other than picks...what else can TO offer. I say we continue to mine the Panthers & the Bolts.

For those considering the likelihood of Roy re-signing with Vancouver in the off-season, his brother lives in Vancouver and has for quite sometime. I spent a little time with the two of them in Italy during the 2011 playoffs and they seemed pretty close. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a deal around the 4 million mark, its the term he's looking for (think 5+ years)

Let's pray this kid has some chemistry with Kesler.... hardly anyone else has.

I like the thought of moving Kes to the wing, he's more suited to that. He should be taking the draws on that line though. Roy isn't the beast in the circle that Kes is.

Schroeder to center 3rd line then?

AWFULLY small down the middle... :-/

I hope Gillis has plans to bring in some bulk on the wings for these guys.
