Hasn't earned anything more than 2.5. 4 years is a bit lengthy. However, we all know Gillis doesn't shy away from lengthy contracts.

Gillman said (on Team1040) that Higgins "certainly left money on the table to sign here." Also said they consider him the "7th forward" in that he can play in the top 6 if needed, or just bring up the quality of the bottom 6.

So glad he's re-signed!
