DeNiro
It's always up to the team, they can just ask him will he accept a deal to the Rangers
theminister
I agree, Edler still has a spot on the top PP (though Garrison brings the same thing to the PP IMO), but we need a calming presence to help with our horrible zone entry. Having the league's worst PP with our talent level is unacceptable. A righty would be preferred but Ehrhoff did a dandy job as a lefty. Streit and the Isles are said to have stalled in extension talks, think there is a fit there?

LeanBeef
Meaning they lost out on him because he chose New York
gaydar
Meaning they lost out on him because he chose New York Two seconds and a 3rd for Streit would be an overpayment. It would probably be the right amount to get Boyle though. Maybe a 1st and a 3rd for him.
theminister
And when Lu says no thanks to playing for the Isles? Also, you're not getting all of that for Lu, not even close.
CanucksJay
Quick question. Why is SJ trading him when they are in a playoff position? Are they saying he is negative value to the team as they would rather get draft picks rather than someone who can help THIS playoffs? And if that's the case, why do WE want him? mpt
I think you are wrong on both counts. I think the Island would be very appealing to Lou.... Brooklyn is the place to be. A UFA, a former 1st and a 2nd? Look around.... that's a bargain today.

theminister
And I think you're wrong, Lu has no value with his current contract. You're not getting that deal in your wet dreams, bud.
DeNiro
I think you're delusional on player values my friend. Douglas Murray fetched 2 2nd's. Give your head a shake.
theminister
That's a good question, I don't know why San Jose have been sellers lately; it's somewhat strange.
Kack Zassian
I still believe Clowe would have came to Vancouver if we had the exact same deal.... Looks like Gillis didn't wanna pay the same price

gaydar
Yep and everyone agrees that was an overpayment for Murray. Streit is a 35 year old pending UFA. Two 2nds and a 3rd should be more than enough for him. You can also say look what Iginla and Morrow went for. A first round pick and a top prospect for each one of them. They have more value than Streit does. No way he goes for that amount.

ninja321
I think it came down to did San jose want to trade to a western or Eastern team because I'm sure MG would've offered something as similar maybe a second next year since we just traded ours for roy
