Ghostsof1915
We need youth, and skill: We should target: Johansen (Columbus) Brett Connolly (Tampa) Carter Aston (Toronto) Colborne (Toronto) Colten Tuebert (Edmonton) Hamonic (NYI) Remember Gillis said, younger, faster, bigger? hockeyking
To be honest I don't think the canucks cannot afford pominville with a 5.3 cap-hit for another year with the cap going down. We have to remember that he isn't a UFA at the end of the year.
Italia2006
Yeah, he's a penalty killer. Normally wouldn't expect NYR to consider moving him, but not a good year. Just a wish really - probably not as realistic as some other options. Would be happy with Boyd Gordon though - not a big guy, but a very good depth shutdown center. CanucksSayEh
Torres + Pominville, get R done. Probably cost a 1st, Gaunce + mid prospect for Pommer and a 3rd/4th for Raffi. High price, but if it helps us win a cup, nobody will care.

Lui's Knob
Here's another question; Kesler isn't back until next week, ebbett and Schroeder sent down... Are we not short a center man still even with Roy?
CanucksSayEh
That's too much for Pominville in my opinion. I think Gaunce will turn out to be a solid prospect with the potential of being a captain. The 1st round pick makes sense but I have a hard time believing Gillis will give it up especially knowing that it is going to be a strong draft. elvis15
lol sgt dummy, nobody said anything about it being simple. Gillis can always try
Caboose
More size and grit?? Didn't we just get Roy?
Ghostdivision
So if you talk to buffalo fans who are by no means Gm's they do give us a better indication of cost. They want a 1st plus tanev or jensen for pominville, so before people just yell get pominville, would you give that up.
Saskatchewan Canucks Fan
If Gillis feels like he will not be able to give Mason Raymond a contract extension how would you feel about a trade of: Mason Raymond, ,Keith Ballard, and a 2nd round pick 2014 for Matt Martin and Travis Hamonic? Bios Martin: 1M cap hit, leads league in hits, Canadian boy, 6 foot 3. Only 6 points in 36 games though Travis Hamonic: Right handed D man.-9. 10 points in 37 games. I'm not overly familiar with these Islanders players so I may be way off the mark. But feel free to comment if you like these players and what would need to be added to make this happen (if you would want it to happen) Edit: I remember Hamonic from World juniors and for being a highly touted prospect. Not sure how well he developed though. Don't hear too much about the other New York team
Super_Canuck
I know David Clarkson isn't available at the deadline, but I'd love for the Canucks to go after him in the off season if he doesn't sign with NJ before that. He is exactly the type of player we need.
Apple Juice
Maybe Pominville would be a good fit here now that we picked up Roy. Not sure if they played much together in Buffalo or not. I would love to get Clarckson. A sand paper type of guy is what we need.
canuckbeliever
In a dreamers world we get Clarkson or Pominville. Realistically though the next option would be Torres or McCarthur

etsen3
I would crap my pants if we got Raffi Torres back, in a good way. He's obviously got Clowe's size and toughness factor, and while he may not have the skill, he has more goals than Clowe this season, and is obviously much cheaper. Vansicle
We don't need any more size, we need a player who can score. Kesler is coming back, Sestito is ???? massive, and the Canucks are generally not physical anyway. We need a SCORER. A mix between Raymond and Hansen, if you will.
