Lu and Schneider NEED to stay. Sure, Schneider is doing great right now even with those losses, but we we still need that veteran presence for a for-sure backup plan in case all else fails with Schneider. I really feel that Lu has changed his ways, and is really improving. We need to keep Lu. Defense on the other hand needs major f*cking adjustments!!

Luongo stays with Vancouver.

Gillis has now failed horribly on how he has handled this entire goalie situation. 5.3 million dollars of cap space sitting on the bench can't help anyone when you can only play one goalie at a time. The contract Gillis signed proved unmovable and he needs to wear that. Four teams in negotiations my a$$.

So - Burkie's vindictive nature towards the Canucks management & owners....lives on & on! No secret that Bettman's former right-hand man masterminded an amendment to the new CBA with the League's approval - that screwed-over the up-start 'Nucks & other teams who signed long-term contracts. This ridiculous new CBA effectively claws back monies & inexplicably considers it FAIR to put-forth a strange formula to retro-actively back-bite the signing teams - if their player retires early.

This formula would have been of benefit to the Leafs...who had indicated a strong interest in trading for Luongo - who has one of these (league-approved) front-loaded contracts with VanCity.

Burke's follow-up advice to the league? Push for a ridiculously low & prohibitive CAP next year so that NHL's Coyotes & other struggling US teams won't fall prey to cup-friendly-franchises in healthier markets who can offer players competitive pay-raises or lure them away with attractive long-term committments. Surprise!!! Teams like the' Nucks who have awarded long-term contracts to loyal players to preserve continuity are suddenly up against a nasty & arbitrarily FIXED LOW-BALL CAP. They are hurt by it... & possibly forced to move onerous contracts for NOTHIN'- simply to ice a competitive team next season? YES - that'd be MORE evidence of Burke's vindictive retribution! Does anyone else see the "CONFLICT OF INTEREST" here? Adeptly altering the rules of the game on a playing field mid-stream...is unfair BS!

2 teams who should both be play-off bound needed to fill holes before the deadline passed...but just couldn't satisfy one another - because of WHAT?! Animosities?! Egos?! Leafs need a veteran goalie who's a proven play-off performer to lead their team & mentor either Reimer or Scrivens. We needed at least 2 proven NHLers like a power-forward or another Top-6 D-man to bolster an ailing group hoping to battle for a post-season run in an increasingly more powerful division & conference. Prospects WON'T help us in the NOW!

'Nucks had the "boat" & the Leafs had the "paddles"....it's disgusting that both teams screwed themselves because they wouldn't co-operate enough to get off of the island!

Alas...you'll have to suck it up - Lu! Your loyalty will serve you well here or where ever you land prior to gettin' yourself to Florida. TB, PHI, PHO, FLA...will ALL be assessing their situations soon enough & may NOT be happy with what they have. But at this point - I say SCREW Toronto! If Lu does get there it will have to be via a 3-way deal..(if Lu will even sign-off on that)...'cuz those arse-wipes are even more villainous than I believed possible.

Nonis really doesn't care about Luongo the man...or the player. He simply cares about thumbin' his nose @ Gillis & screwin' over the 'Nucks....just like his former-mentor Burkie very aptly taught 'im to do. Well....TOUCHE'!
