vcrguy
In the East a team with 15 wins and 21 losses (NJ) is in the playoffs (as of now) whereas a team with 16 wins and 17 losses is out (NYR). In the West, the Canucks have fewer wins and more losses than TO, but they are tied with them in points after the same amount of games! How does this stuff make sense. How does this not teach teams to hang on and just hopefully lose or win in the shootout to get at least 1 point. This game is going down the tubes because of stuff like this. This will never happen because this garbage that puts everyone close together is good for business in the BAD markets, but I'd like to see the following: 3 points for an outright win by 2 goals or more 2 points for an outright win 1.5 points for a win in overtime (loser gets 1.0) 1.0 point for the winner of a shootout (loser gets 0) -1.0 if you lose by more than 2 goals What do you think? vcrguy
Confuscious says.....................you don't want them to score an EN goal; don't pull your goalie. Very wise!
S.Mouse!
Screw points. Wins/Losses. With not 1, but 2 tie-breaking measures in place, there's no need for any more than 2 columns in the standings.
Master Mind
That would completely screw over teams with little money that have to grind out 1 goal games night after night

King Heffy
Some more fun ones: Minus 1 if you dressed Marchand Minus 1 if you dressed Keith Plus 1 if you hurled more than 5 F bombs at the ref Plus 5 if you send either Marchand or Keith off in a stretcher Plus 10 if you send either Marchand or Keith off in a body bag. MANGO
I would love to see, 1 point for a win and that is it. Tie games would be a real battle in the third period. And, no confusion regarding the standings and play-off position. You win or you're out.

Riviera82
Get rid of the shootout (circus) and go back to the way it used to be back when. Win - 2 points. OT win - 2 points. Tie - 1 point. Loss - 0 points. OT loss - 0 points. Problem solved.
-AJ-
Seems too over-thought IMO. I like the commonly like 3-2-1-0 method.

brewdog
If I was in charge... OT is 5 minutes, 4-on-4 with no offsides 2 points for a win 1 point for a tie 0 points for a loss
