see 8 goals scored in 7 games and throw your post in the garbage, Luongo needed 4 shutouts for us to win the cup

You can spout off 8 goals in 7 games all you want but his first period collapses in the 3rd 4th 6th and 7th games cost us big time if you can't see that your blind

Completely delusional. Schneider has never cost the Canucks a cup, Luongo has. Don't play "the team didn't play well"card either, see the games in Boston, then throw that argument in the garbage.

this is the worst part about Luongo not being moved.

Kirk: Maybe he's not out there, Bones. Maybe he's right here. [points to his heart]

What sucks is that speculation was the canucks were getting huge offers for Schneider... Wish they had pulled the trigger.

The truth is Schneider is the one who should have been traded. We are committed to Luongo and that should have been that.

Now it's complicated. Hopefully this will work out in the summer. Until then...

Lets go canucks!

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

Luongo pushed for his massive huge deal till the end of time and handcuffs Vancouver on 29/30 teams,
waits till the deadlines over and then comes out saying .....oh my poor contract....scratches his head why no one grabbed him.
whoa is me.....

seriously ?

guy looks like a head case again, fully mind checked and pretty much all on his own dealing.

He got greedy for Florida and now he's got nothing accept an overpaid backup role.

If he didn't routinely look uninspired and get ventilated Cory wouldnt have had the opportunity to take his job in the first place.

on the upside we dont have Ben Scrivens as a backup right now.

we dont know that he would only go to Florida, youre drawing conclusions based on little information. By the sounds of it, he would have waived his no trade clause to go anywhere, if there was a decent deal to be made.

Could Lou and gillies renegotiate his contract?

Very simple answer: NO. Not allowed under the CBA. That is why Kiprusof will retire after this season- if he plays next year, it is under his existing contract and he gets paid $1.5 million, period. No renegotiation possible.

1) he has never been approached about waiving his NTC and he stated this again today ,Money is not everything and i think its perty clear after he said he would scrap it right now and there is nothing that shows Luongo thinking he is bigger then the team leaving your post pointless

Was just going to post this.

This should put all the speculation that Lui rejected any trade to Toronto or anywhere to bed.

Yet when Gillis followed him in the presser today and was asked the question of whether Lui ever rejected a trade to Toronto, Gillis simply said there had been discussions, and left it at that. I have a feeling like many things the truth lies somewhere in between.

I get it. Money is everything until you have a boatload and backyard full and three McMansions and six Mercedes.
Then money is irrelevant.

Sort of like the Hodgson deal...and the Malhotra situation!

MG starting to have a lot of these "miscommunications" follwoing him around. A bit of a disturbing trend.

Couldn't they scrap the contract, redo it and then trade him? Win win for the entire nhl? I dunno what other options this team has

without the goalie standing on his head in game 1 2 and 5, there WON'T be game 6 and 7 ffs.

This is logic. The goalie should be the last person to take the blame when the team can manage to get to game 7 with 8 freaking goalies.

Trust me. Schneider will not have gotten us to game 7. We could have lost games 1 and 5 if Schneider was in net. The games in Boston? Maybe the score is respectable, but we still lose all 3 the way the team played.

Why didn't Schneider beat LA then? All he had to do was win 4 games.

This guy pretty much sums it up.

Schneider had a healthy team. Luongo had a team held together by duct tape...

Not even close. Can't say Luongo cost us a Cup when he's the reason it went to 7 games.

You have to wonder what the heck is going on don't you?

Here's a GM that has espoused the Detroit model from day 1. But when was the last time we heard of any drama coming out of the motor city?

Maybe I'm the only one but, I wonder what their options are to renegotiate contracts. Is arbitration an option? I have no idea about the new CBA and very little about the old one when it comes to contracts and options.

I thought there was something put into this CBA as an out clause for arbitration for an under performing player.

so no, Luongo's collapses were not the reason our offense wasn't going

I know this is not plausible but, what if the canucks bought him out with the amnesty this year and then re-signed him as a UFA to a 3 yr deal at 1.5m per year or something?

Can they do that and then trade him?

Lu might agree to this as he still makes his buyout money AND he gets a very liquid contract that makes him easily movable.
