Seriously what was the Caps thinking. Do they really think they got a chance against the new Pens this year?

BAD EFFING MOVE.

Erat has been next to useless for a while now. And I used to be a big fan of him.

I was laughing so hard when I saw this trade. Washington got robbed so bad! And Nashville hasn't had much on the way of superstar forwards. If this guy turns into the player many expect him to be, Forsberg could be their new go-to guy for offense a few years from now.

A buddy of mine is always smack-talking the canucks, and as luck would have it, he's a caps fan.... Fantastic.

What's with the pronunciation aid on Erat, and Latta? If they were gonna do that, why not do it for Forsberg too?

Something fishy here. I get the feeling that McPhee might know something about the young Forsberg that precipitated this move...

From a conference rival perspective, go to straight to hell McPhee.

That didn't do us a bit of help down the line.

Maybe because they still have Kuznetsov?

And Ovechkin...

And Backstrom...

And Johansson...

At least this happened at the deadline. If this happened prior to us getting Roy we probably would've had to give up more than KC.

There is so much wrong with this.

Now Nashville has Weber, Josi, Blum, Smith, Forsberg, Aberg, Halischuk, Wilson, and Spaling. Not a bad future.

Could Forsberg(+?) have fetched Thomas Vanek instead? Maybe I'm overvaluing Forsberg/undervaluing Vanek, but Erat is suuuch a mediocre return. McPhee's gone if the Caps miss.

Erat has 2 goals in his last 20 playoff games, he was a ghost in the series vs. Canucks.

Just a brutal move by GMGM, can't believe Forsberg was in play, who gives away a top prospect for Erat??

Erat has never passed 25 goals in a season. Forsberg is a great prospect who has the potential. He's also younger.. What was the GM of the Caps thinking?

Won't matter. Caps are not sellers like we all expected. They are actually buyers, although crazy ones at that.

Getting Lu wouldn't make them a seller if Forsberg was involved. Luongo would have made them a better team than what they traded for.

Not sure what he has to smack-talk about. The Capitals have 0 Stanley Cups, and have been to the finals once? Drafted one of the most dynamic and dangerous offensive forces in a long time and have done absolutely nothing in the playoffs.

Your friend is .... a moron? LOL

Erat did not want to resign in Nashville as well. Poile was under pressure to move him and hits a home run. I wonder how far back Poile and MacPhee go?

Probably pretty simple really...

...that if the team missed the playoffs this year, all levels of the organization would have to be evaluated.
