BRAVEMAN91
Don't know if they do this per usual for players who have played elsewhere and then retired. But I hope they sign him to a one day contract and let him officially retire a Canuck. Should of done that for Naslund too IMO
Johnny_Drama
Jersey will be retired next season. I like how 6 different reporters asked the same exact question one after another... The creativity is astonishing
Tekmisfit
Did anyone read the article today in the province? http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Bure+number+finally+honoured/8196344/story.html Didn't Stan Smyl retire the year before Pavel played? TOMapleLaughs
He might've played his best years as a Canuck, but he certainly earned the bulk of his living on other teams. Perhaps another part of the reason that our love for him hasn't exactly been returned. He respects the Panthers and Rangers far more. A jersey retirement is still deserved, but you can see why it's taken this long to mend the bridge. Props to Faq for trying.
alt kilgore
About freakin time! Embarrassing. It think we are the only team that has a player in the HHOF and refused to retire his jersey. Did he have a bit of an attitude problem and held grudges too long......maybe But the organization at the time treated him like crap on multiple fronts, he had his reasons. Time both sides buried the hatch and put Pavel's # up in the rafters where it belongs.
Gross-Misconduct
It was obvious from the presser today that #10 is going up. About time. All the drama behind the scenes is history and has nothing to do with his on ice play that amazed Canuck fans for all those years. Having his #10 not up there already is nuts. DeNiro
Pavel is the same age as Selanne. Imagine he had the ability to stay injury free like him. He could still be playing today.

CanuckleHorse
Still the most exciting player to ever come out of Russia and the greatest player the Canucks ever had.
camarosmith000
Either that's a jersey foul or Pavel is wearing a Brian Bradley jersey. Could the Canucks brass at least have gotten his sweat right for this photo op? If things stay they are in Canuckville, his number will be retired in blue. Why do they insist on changing history? Awwww....
Canuck or Die
Once his jersey is retired, the curse will be lifted and we can finally win our cup.
