Countdown to the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs - Last Northwest Division Champions ever!

Recommended Posts

Happy with the games today-now if only the Oilers can get a few quickies!

With Minny losing, we can rest any guys who are bruised up, these next couple games. Get Lu in for one(to keep him fairly sharp), & start to fine-tune our squad.

Looking more & more like Blues will be road kill.

I agree with most posters above; a jump up into second place and getting to play one of CBJ or MIN would be preferable.

That's probably not going to happen. Likely to match up against one of SJ, STL, or LA.

Those are pretty tough draws all around.

Can we forfeit the division and just ask for the 8th seed.

I want Duncan "Daniels little bitch" Keith to come to the airport so I can spit on his face and run away.

Yes I said run away lol

... he'd destroy me :P

Ok let's try this again. With a STL win and a SJ loss, we'll be facing the Sharks who play 2 more games. But here's hoping the Wild pick it up in their last three games and somehow jump to 6th. Would much rather play them than the Sharks and Blues.

Continuing from my thread from last year...

DIVISION CHAMPIONS FOR THE LAST TIME IN HISTORY!

NHL-Stanley-Cup-Playoffs.png

There are twogames left until the end of the regular season, and only one week!

Currently, the Canucks are positioned to be matched up against the St. Louis Blues.

During the season, the Canucks have gone 2-2-0 against Minnesota. Other possible candidates for the 6th seed include the San Jose sharks - whom the Canucks have gone 0-2-1 against this year, the Phoenix Coyotes - whom the Canucks have gone 2-1-0 against this year, the St. Louis Blues - whom the Canucks have gone 1-0-2 against this year, and the Detroit Red Wings, who the Canucks are1-2-0 against.

The Canucks are also projected to be fully healthy near the end of the first round, or (if they make it), the beginning of the second round. That would make the line-up as follows:

SEDIN - SEDIN - BURROWS

HIGGINS - ROY- KESLER

RAYMOND- LAPIERRE - HANSEN

SESTITO/PINNER - LAPIERRE - WEISE

HAMHUIS - GARRISON

EDLER - BIEKSA

BALLARD - TANEV

SCHNEIDER

LUONGO

The challenge ahead is greater than ever - and this is the best year for the Canucks to go all the way. Many obstacles lie ahead... Can Vancouver prevail?

This year I want to see the Canucks regain that somewhat cocky attitude from 2011. I now know why other teams considered us to be arrogant that year - because the Canucks were a very confident bunch and pretty much knew they were gonna win every night. That supreme confidence and momentum (or arrogance as some other teams considered it) made us a dominant team. Lately the Canucks have been on a good run and have started to gain pieces of that confidence. If we can fully regain our swagger I like our chances at the Cup, no matter who we play.
