Bodee
Just watched Volpatti's return to the Washington team and he played over 14mins and looked a lot better than many here gave him credit for. The difference for me seemed to be that his line mates trusted him and passed to him. He seemed to be given more responsibility. I always thought he was a guy who just needed more encouragement and players giving him "out" passes to use his speed. His defence looked good and his marking was also faultless. I hope the Caps get a run in the SC and if the Canucks don't win it, it would be nice to see him get a ring.
Kumquats
Thanks for staying a Canucks fan because we lost a 4th liner on waivers...
timberz21
I wasn't happy to see him go, but not to the point of me wishing him a Stanley Cup. I'd wish a Stanley Cup for a few more players before him

Everybody Hates Raymond
With the depth of this forward group now, why would we have Volpatti? He can't fight well. He can't score. Did we really need another Tanner Glass?
iinatcc
Speaking of Volpatti ... I just picked him up from Waivers in NHL 13 he better be worth it.
EmployeeoftheMonth
Didn't think it was a mistake in the first place and having seen him play a bit for Washington I still don't think it's a mistake. That's not a dig on Volpatti it's just we didn't need him. He wasn't suited for the role we needed him to fill.
MayRayDown
I'd still prefer him over Sestito. I'd prefer anybody over Sestito really though

Tearloch7
All the blame rests on AV for once again NOT using an asset to its fullest potential .. (s/a)
Niloc009
Yeah, that 1 assist in 9 games since he started with Washington is really hard to replace. I know its not all about points, but he doesn't play the PP, doesn't PK, and isn't especially good in any zone. He hits, and that's pretty much it. I won't pretend Sestito is better than Volpatti was, but in reality, they're 4th line wingers, and if our cup chances come to a close because we employ Sestito over Volpatti, we were never a cup threat to begin with. TOMapleLaughs
These guys are interchangeable. If he played 14mins in a game, then they have a significant player missing. (Erat)
TOMapleLaughs
Ward and Laich were out too? Nobody who had Ebbett before said 'omg we made a mistake here!' when he scored 3pts in a game, yet we're supposed to be worried about losing Patticake because he played some minutes in a game? Bang Bang Boogie
If the Canucks made a big mistake in letting a 4th liner go, then they're in bigger trouble than we all thought.

Ossi Vaananen
Lol. Look, Volpatti was good at his role, that being to bang and fight when called upon. There are numerous players that can do this, let's not pretend Volpatti has some sort of offensive upside with the 2 points in 24 games he's played this season.
