Alex the Great
The Montreal Canadiens and goaltender Peter Budaj have agreed to a two-year, $2.8 million contract extension. Budaj played eight games with the Canadiens this season, recording a 6-1-1 record with a 2.28 goals against average and .917 save percentage and one shutout. The 30-year-old Slovak will get the start in goal Thursday night when the Canadiens visit the Buffalo Sabres. Budaj joined the Canadiens organization as a free agent on July 1, 2011. He was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2nd round (63rd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Jägermeister
Honestly this is a little surprising. Budaj is good enough to be a 1A/1B type goalie, he proved that with the Avs a few years ago. He must really like Montreal if he's willing to stay backup behind Price.
Mike Vanderhoek
I could see Budaj may have had a better opportunity individually on another team, however being a part of a winning franchise in a good situation he did very well for himself with this deal. Gross-Misconduct
I like Budaj. Not sure if the Habs could of done any better in locking up a backup. Maybe if they got Luongo I suppose. Plus, I love Budaj's Ned Flanders mask.
