Even the Wolves commentators are lamenting here about Climie's workload, wondering if it's too much and if Cannata should be given more games.

That's just common sense. He has started a ridiculous amount of games, and Cannata is perfectly capable.

You can see it's wearing Climie down, by the number of soft goals he's been letting in lately.

Even if they make it to the playoffs, Climie will be burnt out.

Yep, whoever runs the Wolves twitter account is still adamant the 1st goal belongs to Schroeder.
Chicago Wolves@Chicago_Wolves6m

A wild first period comes to an end. Five goals were scored with the #ChicagoWolves bagging three of them (Schroeder, Sweatt, Matsumoto).

Not happening under Arneil, unfortunately... seems like he'd rather play the vets than give the kids a chance. Even though Cannata's numbers are almost identical to Climie's and has a winning record (albeit in a smaller body of work).

Although I am truly dumbfounded as to how Blain's playing over Polasek, Andersson, or Sauve. Ridiculous. They didn't even need Regner either... Chicago has been a very poor environment for our prospects. In addition to Cannata and the d-men, we have Friesen, Grenier and Mallet all sitting in the press box when they should be getting ice time. How are they supposed to develop, exactly? Looking forward to Peoria/Abbotsford already.

I *believe* Andersson is injured.

Blomstrand's blend of speed, size, grit and willingness to carry the puck to the net should put him on the fast track to the NHL, even if he's limited to a 4th line role. I guess it all really depends on his skill level.

Just gotta say, I've been saying this for a long time. Kid's game is waaay better for North America.

Stoked to have him as a prospect and can't wait to see what's in his future.

He is, but stonecoldstevebernier's point still stands about Sauve and Polasek. Sauve I can maybe see but Polasek has been the Wolves' best defenseman of late. Why a guy called up from the Central League or East Coast League in Blain is playing over him is beyond me.

On the flip side, though, we're seeing several Canucks forward prospects get some playing time and make an impact. Schroeder, Jensen, Rodin, Blomstrand and undrafted/signed guys like Archibald and Sweatt are all playing and doing well. Lain is also fast becoming Arniel's go to defensive guy and faecoff specialist. Good news on the front, especially because earlier it was the other way around. The D prospects were the ones making their presence felt.

Tripping penalty going the Wolves way and the commentators don't like it at all.

Ah, I'd forgotten about that, thanks for reminding me. I'd hope that Arneil would play him over Blain, given his solid season, but if Blain is ahead of Polasek on the depth chart you never know...

Flurry of chances for the Griffins on this PP but Climie stood tall. Some good work by new D-man Regner and Sweatt as well.

The Schroeder line is starting to put on a bit more pressure. Unfortunately, he just picked up a slashing penalty. Griffins back to the PP.

They're just being polite. The obvious answer is "YES". :P

Love how Schroeder's line is the "2nd line" even though he's the best player on the ice right now.

To be fair, I think Polasek must be injured. IIRC Arniel did call him his best defenceman a little while ago.

The Wolves have to come out with the win in this one. They're currently sitting 10th in the conference and they've been blowing their games in hand.

Wolves going to the PP for the first time tonight.

Climie just thwarted a Griffins shorthanded 2 on 1 rush. The Wolves need to wake up here.

Yup, the Griffins had all 4 prior to this and then they finally get called on a too many men. The refs not making it easy for the Wolves to keep the lead!

For some reason the third Wolves goal has been credited to Davies now. The AHL scorekeepers are awful. Given the call by the broadcasters, it seemed like it was clearly Matsumoto's goal. Blomstrand still has his assist though.
