Specter's Vengeance

Keep this game on the radar if you love ZOMBIES!

Well this is coming out sometime in the summer apparently. Its an Xbox Arcade exclusive and its open world. The game is called State of Decay. Basically its like GTA with elements of Day Z and defend the fort kinda games. You must survive as long as you can trying to find food and other survivors. From what I've seen, each person you find has a different skill set then the next. For example, you find someone who is proficient at sniping and is quick but takes less hits to kill compared to the slower melee/shotgunner.

Heres a gameplay trailer

It looks promising so what Im going to do is watch it with a weary eye and keep myself optimistic.

A zombie MMO for consoles will be awesome.

love zombie movies but usually am not so big on zombie games. Usually it comes down to lack of depth of gameplay. Left4dead is a good example. The multiplayer aspect kept it fun for a little while but still it was just more of the same throughout. Zombies are just too one dimensional in how they act. Theres no cunning or problem solving going on. They arent stealthy or looking for different ways to come at you.

They work fine in small doses like the `we dont go to Ravenholm` mission in Half-life 2. But for a whole game. Just not enough there. Of course this is just speculation and Ive been wrong before.

I've played some of it. Coming from someone who hates all this zombie crap that has been coming out lately (seriously, I'm sick and tired of it all), this game is really good. Like really, really good.

Multiple controlable characters, multiple surivors to choose to save. Bases to choose, plan and fortify. Choices to make that impact the path of the game. RPG and open world elements abound.

Unlike that crappy Walking Dead TellTale adventure game from last year, you're actually in control and shaping the outcome of things.

It's a pure sandbox game, and you're pretty much allowed to approach it however you wish in order to survive.

I have a serious issue with in the endgame, in that there is none. I mean I haven't gotten the chance to finish it myself, but those that made the game have stated there is no winning state, as in you just play and survive until you die. And I hate that.

But without having to have played through that part, and from my experience of playing what I had, this game is solid.

OK, I've not played too much but I've liked what I have played so far.

The one problem I have with it is how laggy it is. Especially when driving. So annoying.
