Is it not time to give Luo a run!?

Recommended Posts

Personally I think since Schneider has trade value and Luo doesn't which we saw at the deadline. There seems to be only one option to improve the team by goalie trade and trading Luo isn't it. If MG believes "the window is closing" then Luo's contract shouldn't matter because right now he's worth every penny and will be for as long as our supposed window is open. And if he doesn't believe the "window is closing" Lack is coming up the pipeline with Cannata behind him.

Yes...IT's about frickin time!!! It's embarassing having him sit on the bench after he stood on his head against Calgary and made 40 saves...gets the first star as the visiting team...sits on the bench in the next game. WTF!!! Get your head out of your ass AV. What happened to "who ever gives us the best chace will play"...practice what you preach.

The reality seems that our run consisted of extremely tight defensive hockey combined with bottom-feeding teams, with the results being narrow victories; something that will not cut it in the playoffs.

Schneider's positional play is potentially the best in the league. The guy is so smooth in the net. Luongo is very athletic, but Schneids has something very special in the way he can control the net and slow the game down in front of him. Luongo is obviously a great goalie as well, but i bet Av's heart rate is much slower with Schneids in the net.

I am confident that in the tighter checking playoffs, Corey's positioning and calm demeanor will flourish.

Schneider played 3 games. that means absolutely nothing sorry. Chad Johnson has played 3 games for the Coyotes this year and has a 1.32GAA and a .949 save % in those 3 games, should the Coyotes make him their new starter instead of Mike Smith? No

Quick had a 1.41GAA and a .946 save% after 20 games when the playoffs were over, that means something.

As we have been watching this team struggling (yes, struggling despite the "nice" little run we had a week and so ago), we have seen Cory recieve a run and Im going to suggest that it wasn't that spectacular, even though winning was present.

The reality seems that our run consisted of extremely tight defensive hockey combined with bottom-feeding teams, with the results being narrow victories; something that will not cut it in the playoffs.

As this team is inching towards the possibilty of being considered a contender once again, perhaps it is time that management allows Luo to run with the starts for a while to see what he can do. Because lets be honest, if we compare the two goalies (yes they are both "good") Luo has looked the higher caliber net-minder, producing amazing results, while Cory has been the more "average."

Pretend Luongo got traded at the deadline & Alex Auld is out backup.

Now our purpose is to have Cory ready for the playoffs.

Does Alex Auld deserve the next start?

If not, then neither does Luongo.

Cory is our starting goalie, Cory needs to be ready for the playoffs.

Luo is here by default but Luo is the backup.

He isn't owed anything, he doesn't deserve anything, his job is to be ready if called upon & open the gate when needed.

Ug...

Lu should have started cause schn was sick.

Lu has been outplayed by schn over the last year - that is why he has been sitting.

1 bad goal a game has been happening to Lu for way too many games over past few years

Schn has bad games and stretches too.

When schn is on his game, he is better than 2013 Lu. Or 2012 Lu. Or 2011 Lu. That is why he is on the trading block.

I understand that there are Lu fans here, and he has been a great goalie. I wish we could move him to the 2nd or 3rd line like we would a declining but valuable forward.... But it doesn't work that way

I like how all the Schneider fans are all of a sudden Luongo haters.. What is the problem with giving Luongo games? He's probably gonna play quite a few during the playoffs, should we go on a long run. If he's rusty our hopes are going down the drain, smarten up Canuckle-heads.
