The Secret
with Kesler on the wing the first thing I would try would be: Sedins - Burrows Raymond - Roy - Kesler Hansen - Ebbett - Kassian Weise - Lap - Ses Once Higgins is back I'd call up Schroeder and put him in Ebbett's spot, and Higgins in Kassians spot. KING ALBERTS
if they arent going to call schroeder back up, they should put lapierre centering the 3rd... i think theres more possible offence with raymond-lappy-kassian than ebbett. hes more of a 4th line guy anyways
Apples
When the playoffs come and everyone is back healthy I want Sedin Sedin Burrows Hansen Kesler Raymond Higgins Roy Booth Kassian Lapierre Weise
Robongo
Kesler's way too valuable to this team at centre to be playing the wing.. I like the balanced attack the way it is now. You can't have ebbett or even Schroeder playing as your third centre in the playoffs, so can someone please explain the logic behind this move? Dogbyte
No, he didn't do this last year and in the playoffs was forced to try new lines that had never been tested before. I like the idea of trying new lines now and getting ready for the playoffs. But... After some line juggling now (playoff testing) he need to go to the lines he plans to start with and keep them together for 6+ games before the playoffs. Belsy91
There is two deadly scoring lines. Wish AV would drop Ebett and call up Shroeder.
Canucks_Hockey_101
Because its time to get our starter ready for the playoffs?
Canucks_Hockey_101
The logic in my mind is that Roy was acquired to help the offense and he isn't going to do that on the 3rd line with Wiese. Kesler is sliding back into his "all me" mode where he does not use his wingers at all offensively instead trying to do it all himself. Roy makes the players around him better while Kesler does not. The team needs the 2nd line producing consistently. This is a good thing to experiment with now rather than come playoff time.
RunningWild
What the bleep, Schroeder should be on this team - esp now that there is a centre position available. I've never understood why he was sent down, this kid was not a liability. It's pretty hard for a young player to post good underlying numbers in such a small sample size, but Schroeder did that while in Van. AV can demote Kassian or young players all he wants, I can usually see why. But there is no logical explanation for the Schroeder thing, none, it peeves me off. Nino
Actually you're wrong. D Sedin was hurt with about 10 games left last year. It was then a crazy roller coaster of line juggling all the way up to the playoffs and in the playoffs.
Nino
That's exactly why Luongo should start... And play all remaining games.
wizeman
Why would we trade for a center all so that we have to HELP him by sticking our best all around center on his wing. To give him some more 'confidence' ? It wont last. Trust me.
UFCanuck
Schroeder's playing great in the A right now. Rather have him as a center over Ebbett.

Teen Icarus
I refuse to accept that. In fact, I like the move except that it exposes our lack of centre depth.
DeNiro
Ebbett as the third line center? Really? Just call up Schroeder already. What does this guy have to do to prove himself?
canuckbeliever
I would like this move a lot more if they had a third line center who was adequate. The issue with this formation is Maxim Lapierre becomes the guy who will play against top line centers in the playoffs and truthfully I am more than certain he can't handle the likes of Richards, Thornton, Koivu, Toews. Either you have 2 good scoring lines or three ok lines. Id rather go with the latter option because with Cory in net scoring a couple goals less wont exactly be an issue. Biasbieksa
I agree with Canucks_hockey_101. I dont think Kesler is going to generate much offense with or without good wingers. Put him as a shutdown 3rd line centre. Chipping in offensively, but mainly for match ups. Keep him on the PP. Put our next best wingers with Roy on the 2nd, and let them generate the next tier of offense behind the Sedins. IMO. If we load up our 2nd line with Roy and Kesler. Our 3rd line is not even close to being an effective 3rd line in the playoffs. We will be eaten up by the stronger offensive teams. And I dont think Schroeder is ready for that, not Ebbett.
