[Firing] Tambo done in Oil Town

Recommended Posts

Stupid move, they should be trying to do everything Pittsburgh and Chicago did. Those 2 franchises had great patience, built 2 amazing cores and won Cups.

Tambellini had done so much so well for so long. Sure the Oilers sucked, but this season was a step in the right direction and I believe with one more high pick and development, next year would have been a sure-playoff year.

Under Tambellini, the Oilers were 1 season away from a playoff birth IMO, and maybe 3 away from legitimately contending for a cup.

To be honest Pittsburgh got lucky with the 2005 pick.

in 2003 they didn't have a 1st overall pick. They had to trade for it

in 2004, they got the 2nd pick

in 2005, is were they got lucky

in 2006, they actually tried real hard, (Signed Pallfy and Gonchar) but still sucked

Blackhawks

in 2003 they Drafted Seabrook

in 2004 they Drafted Barker, who failed for them

in 2005 they drafted a crappy player.

in 2006 they Drafted Toews with the 3rd pick

in 2007 They won the lottery going from 6 to 1. Epic win.

The thing is OIlers purposly sucked, Pittsburgh and Chicago tried. actually .
