MillerGenuineDraft
Just because its a common occurence doesn't mean its not important. 42 people died in Iraq, and no one seems to care.
MoneypuckOverlord
http://www.cnn.com/2...ence/index.html Baghdad (CNN) -- A series of bomb blasts across Iraq on Monday killed at least 42 people and wounded more than 257 others, police said. The attacks took place in at least six provinces: Baghdad, Anbar, Babel, Kirkuk, Salaheddin Diyala, and Nasriya, police officials across the country told CNN. Two of the bombs exploded at a checkpoint near Baghdad's international airport. Most of the attacks in Baghdad targeted Shiite areas, police told CNN. Al Qaeda in Iraq, made up of Sunni extremists, has claimed responsibility for many attacks in recent months. Attacks elsewhere hit security checkpoints, Shiite areas and political offices. With provincial elections scheduled to take place in five days, ongoing attacks have politicians worried that violence could skew the outcome, if Iraqis who fear attacks on polling centers stay at home. 42 people dead and 257 wounded. What is going on with this world.
Aladeen
Apologies. Kind of lashed out. Its just frusterating that no one seems to care about this.
Special Ed
Get a grip you guys. Obviously local news is covered as opposed to overseas news. I thought that was common sense. Maybe some of you should start up a local news that covers only foreign things.
Captain Aerosex
Man, once again hard to come up with words. This is terrible.
Scott Hartnell's Mane
I completely Care about this, however since the initial invasion of Iraq there has been in excess of 122,000 civilian deaths by violence and more than that number due to unfit living conditions. 42 is a number to be added to the genocidial war crimes that the previous American Administration under Bush and Cheney should be on trial for at the war crimes tribunal. MJDDawg
That country is a mess. This is a fairly common occurrence. People there can't go out without the risk of being blown to pieces.
Salmonberries
The Americans have managed to wipe out Christianity in Iraq. Syria is next and then Lebanon.
Apricot
If there's a fatal car crash that occurs outside of your house, and a similar fatal car crash that occurs in Brisbane, Australia, which are you going to care more to follow up on? You're saying 'no one seems to care' on a Canadian forum, where the majority here live in North America; the story therefore becomes more relevant. MoneypuckOverlord
I'm going to guess it was Islamic extremists. *waits to get flamed* Really though Iraq was a war that should never have happened. Not that the Iraqi regime didnt deserve to get invaded. But the Iraqi people didnt. Anyone know of any polls where Iraqis think they were better off before or after? I would be shocked if there were iraqis thinking its better now. Then again I don't really understand how bad Saddam really was.

poetica
How horribly sad! I sincerely hope things improve in Iraq very soon. People should never have to be afraid to leave their homes! When will we as a species learn a better way???

Raoul Duke
Our species will learn a better way when people evolve past the need for religion for indoctrination, for mind control, for nuclear weaponry, for the "illusion" of safety and the need for money. In other words...never.
