Quote

Death is certain, replacing both the siren-song of Paradise and the dread of Hell. Life on this earth, with all its mystery and beauty and pain, is then to be lived far more intensely: we stumble and get up, we are sad, confident, insecure, feel loneliness and joy and love. There is nothing more; but I want nothing more.

CDC would be a better place if you didn't post trade proposals.

Doubt it. The guy is determined to trade Schneider. I'm convinced he's related to Luongo or something.

About praying - not the self determination you made about yourself.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Schneiders a classy dude. I'm sure he's probably given money to any sort of cause that is helping families through tough times.
Writing "pray for Boston" on your stick is the absolute bare minimum anyone can possibly do for a tragic event though.
Whether it works or it doesn't, spending 5 seconds to do something doesn't really warrant applause?? Or I dunno maybe it does whatever.

Donate to Red Cross. You?

And no need to apologise.
I've put together a little guideline on effective and ineffective ways to assist in tragedies.
Effective:
Give money
Donate time
Give blood

Ineffective, or otherwise unproven
Pray
"Give your thoughts"

If a doctor saves someone, it wasn't from praying. It was from years of hard work, and the strength of the victim.

By all means, I'm not saying dont pray or have your thoughts be with the victims.
I'm just saying, while you're doing that you could also give to a relief fund. I understand getting some "likes" on your Facebook status is good too. Use that. Maybe throw a donation website on it too!

Billions of people used to believe that the earth was flat too... So don't worry, this too will be understood and widely accepted in time too (see numerous surveys and research that shows # of non-religious people in the world is increasing fast thanks to the internet and open minded discussion, etc.)

All praying does is make you feel good and calm if you believe in it (it's some sort of meditation), but doesn't do anything for the actual victims. As Stefan mentioned, if you really want to help and not just make yourself feel good (and make others think you're helping) is to donate, physically help, etc.

There were less than a billion people on the planet when Christopher Columbus lived...
The number of people praying is increasing as well - makes sense - more people are be born every day.
Open minded? Sounds like you're close minded and made up your mind already.

Kudo's to Cory for not being close minded.
