It's not 7.5 per year, Kesler's at 5 million and Malhotra's at 2.5 million

Canucks will probably wear the Millionaires jersey, one year off from their 100th anniversary??

I'm excited about the game, but I think having 6 games is overkill. I like it when they had one Winter Classic and one Heritage Classic in Canada. I'm afraid if they have too many outdoor games the concept will just get old. Also why did they have to pick the Senators?

Plus LA and Anaheim? I know the ice making technology is good enough but come on, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of the "Winter" classic. Might as well just play roller hockey.

Not a fan of these anyway...one is more than enough. 6 league games is overkill and just begging for some serious injury or other weather-related incident

6 games is by far a lot, and I don't understand the Rags getting two.
Also, Ottawa is a weird choice for Vancouver to play.
Also, I really want to go to the game anyway.

Are they overdoing it with that many games?

yes. One a year in the US and one in Canada is more than enough.

What a stupid idea,

The winter classic works because it's a special event.

This takes away from the "special" factor.

Besides, hockey in a stadium sucks

What a money grab. They even have the nerve to give the rangers 2 games?

This will certainly kill any outdoor games for the future. No one will care about them anymore. One a year is enough.

I hope people don't give even more of their money to the NHL. Be strong Canuck fans!

Lots of negativity.... Thought people would be syched that we finally got an outdoor classic. I know I am.

I just hope I can figure out a way to be there.

yep. People whine and complain because we haven't had a game yet. Then when we get it, people whine and complain that we got one.

This the NHL trying to make more revenue because of the lockout , Vancouver having a outdoors game really reaks of desperation .

Outdoor hockey is ment to be played in the heart of winter not near the beginning of spring in mild climate that receives as much rain as us

Part of history??? Don't worry about that since the year after that will probably have 30 winter classic games. Winter classic used to be unique and special since it was once a year after the new year but now it will become lame thanks to buttman trying to milk it for all its worth.

I bet their other dumb ideas were to have SCF outdoor games too, so they could generate even more revenue. Never seen a league so desperate in trying to make money.

Not sure having the winter classic game in freaking March is a good idea, especially in Vancouver. If you want a Winter Classic game in Vancouver when the weather is at the coldest with the highest chance of snow, they would've been better off having it in December or January.

They will probably do a "Winter" classic in Mexico too, just to generate more revenue and reach out to non-hockey markets. Can't wait for the Canucks vs. Chicago at Estadio Azteca in Mexico city in July.

6 games? That's a bit much.

Also, knowing the weather here as we all do...it'll probably rain that day.

I'm not excited about this in the least. It will probably rain, they'll probably use the roof, so people are paying a crazy amount for really bad seats to watch a regular hockey game.

I can just see all the press releases at Robson Square?

Geez, why Ottawa? :bored: :bored: :bored: I'd rather lay a lickin on Calgary, Edmonton might finally be peaking and Chicago gets the skin on my kneck standing up...

Or Toronto against Lou! :bigblush:

As long as they can pack 2 - 4 times as many fans into a football stadium or a baseball diamond over a hockey rink and charge double the price for the tickets, we will be having outdoor games.
