Captain Aerosex
Montreal forward Ryan White was suspended 5 games today for this hit to the head on Philadelphia defenceman Kent Huskins in a game between the two teams on April 15th. Video with alternative angles of the hit: Explanation here White was given a 5 minute major for elbowing as well as a match penalty for attempt to injure on the play. The Flyers reported that Huskins was concussed on the play. Thoughts? IMO, he doesn't target the head with an extended elbow at all (though the head does get hit), but he extends the body to clip him and catches the head. More a bad, careless, dirty hit than a malicious play to me, but still suspendable. 5's alright, if a bit much.
The Brahma Bull
Based on this, Duncan Keith deserved a waaaaaaaaay longer suspension
elvis15
Yup, the up ice camera angle shows just how much White was leading Huskins to try and cut him off from coming around the net (and to make a hit). You can see his angle is well ahead of making contact with Huskins' near shoulder unless he changes it. When he realized Huskins wasn't going to skate harder up the ice, but rather pass it, he had to let up but didn't. I don't think he had time to change his angle, so it was always going to be a bad hit if he followed through.
Jägermeister
To me it doesn't look like he intended on targeting his head, rather he was aiming for his shoulder and missed. Regardless, it was a reckless hit and 5 games sounds about right.
hudson bay rules
5 is about right but if you compare it to other hits it could've been anywhere from zero to five. Then again he is a relative nobody so..........
Madness
Lol so inconsistent. Worse or equally as bad hits have resulted in much less in terms of suspension.
Roflcawptur
Seems rediculous to me, he didn't target the head, he just missed. http://www.nhlwheelofjustice.com/

TimberWolf
It's a fine suspension if it were a consistent league It's not

ThaBestPlaceOnEarth
Sure, Keith gets five for intentionally knocking the reigning MVP out of the stretch drive/first round, White gets the same for missing his check. Not that I'm still bitter or anything.
Lychees
I dont even know what hits to compare anymore, This gets 5, Keith gets 5, Nash doesn't even get a phone call. Round & Round the wheel goes, where it stops not even Shanny knows
Apples
Keith hit was way worse than this one. Again, more inconsistency
