He has to be ready at least during the first round otherwise we aren't going very far.

Huge facepalm for the Canucks and their inconsistencies re: injured players. If you don't know, say "we don't know yet".

If Juice isn't ready for round 1, time to put Hamhuis-Tanev back together. Dynamite pairing. Let's see if Edler Garrison can make it work.

Was it THAT hard for Gillis to simply acquire a #7, 8 RH-D for depth? If so, it would suggest the league's 29 gms sincerely hate him.

If they'd acquired 1 more for depth, & HE got injured, well that'd be understandable. But this situation is bloody well UNACCEPTABLE! Half this board were ranting about such a necessity, pre-deadline. gillis failed here.

Ya, they don't have a choice but to call up Corrado now IMO. He's the only right handed d-man on the farm (who's healthy). They HAVE to see how he fairs in the NHL before playoffs start - just in case.

This is the same old AV style; forcing players to play with injuries.

I love how the management stresses how important it is to have defensive depth and now we our only right handers out with injuries. We have no depth. Idiots.

Detroit fighting for a playoff spot to keep a 20 year record in tact..

Canucks don't show up at all tonight, Luongo gets start cuz AV knows it.

Because Ballard is the worst defensemen that has ever played Hockey

He's certainly one of the most overpaid defensemen to ever play hockey. For an "offensive" defenseman who is terrible defensively, the only good thing I can say about Ballard is... he seems to be trying? They need a healthy Bieksa in their lineup, even more so than Tanev come playoff time. Bieksa isn't as responsible as Tanev defensively, but he adds some sandpaper that their blueline so desperately needs. Who else do they have that can bring grit to the back end other than Alberts? Also Edler needs to start laying people out like we all know he can.

They feel that bringing up Corrado would be throwing him into the fire due to his lack of experience. I say if they clinch the division let him have a couple games to try out here at the end of the season.

I feel like they haven't learned anything with injuries. AV is the type of coach that throws his players right back into tough minutes as soon as they're medically cleared.

And all that does is make sure the player is only able to play at 70% the whole season because they're never fully healed.

A groin injury is not something you just play through. If not healed properly, it will nag a player all season.

Even with Tanev after he got hit and twisted his ankle, they let him play the rest of the game. What's the point? They probably made his injury even worse by doing that. I feel like this team is way too short-sighted when it comes to these things. Winning now doesn't matter if it hurts our chances to win when it matters.

AV would rather lose with his favorites in the lineup than win with anyone else. He has no trust for the depth guys on his roster and it shows. Edler and Bieksa are guys who can play as crappy as they want to or play through injuries and AV does not seem to care.

Then when those guys playing like crap or being injured gets ironically used as the reasoning to keep this coach next season......the guy has it all figured out how to keep his job.

I personally find management's inconsistency regarding the reporting of injuries frustrating.

We are the fans, the supporters, the diehards. Tell us like it is. No more about face.

PS - if it is indeed a groin-issue, what's AV going to do? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he swear on his daughters that it wasn't. Dilemma...

You seem to think you have a "right to know". You don't. It's the players health and livelihood. It's the teams business. The only thing you have a "right to" is to watch or attend games for the entertainment. That's all. What the team/players choose to share is entirely up to them.

LOL abou AV's idiocy. remember when grabner had that late-season hatty for Van vs Anaheim(pretty sure)? Was AV cursing the guy on the bench, like he did Shirokov after he scored a beaut? That musta' been grabs' ticket outa'here.

For all the people that cover this team I would think there would be better coverage of the injury situations. This time of year the updates from the team can be very misleading.

Could the Canucks give Corrado a Chance?

Perhaps he could pull a Subban.

Haven't you heard? AV grabs them by the ear, drags them out of bed, and tells them to lace 'em up.

(Some just don't get that players often play when they're less than 100%)

Do you guys not understand that in the playoff stretch you'll NEVER get a straight answer on injuries? They don't want other teams to be able to prepare or have information on what to expect, so they keep spewing out vague, generic answers as a result. It's nothing to criticize, it's actually a tactical move.

1st off i don't believe a word any of our coaches/management say about injuries and 2nd obviously Bieksa has been injured all season long and we were always a predominately LH D team why in good god's name did MG not pick up a Righty at the deadline, or hell sign one instead of Barker and Vandermeer I don't want to hear there was no one available cause the mentioned 2 guys just scream quality..

HA HA HA HA HA.
Barker and Alberts say hello.
Ballard and Tanev provided stability on the rear end while Eddy was lost in space and Bieksa was playing Bobby Orr.

Not acquiring a right handed d man is not acceptable.
Management need a d man in the front office.
Forwards do not win championships.
