Which is it. Is it actions or non actions that keep you in or out of heaven. Or is it intentions. If someone does something they hope will be good but kills or hurts someone. Does the intention or the action affect whether they get in or not? Does not doing something when you should have have an effect?. Will god look down on someone who could have helped but didn't?

Just wondering aloud.

I'm serious. I'm not a religious person. Pretty much agnostic in my thinking. So I am curious at what people think would get them into "heaven".

If god (or the gods) made you what you are, why would you get punished for being you?

They were real once and they are still partially real. Not the inside part. But the outside part still is. So great analogy. I think we have somewhere to go from here now.

Hmmm, but what does it take to get into Never Never Land? Were those Lost Boys chosen for a reason, or was it random happenstance? Is not fighting Captain Hook the same as supporting him?

These questions are just as relevant, if you ask me.

There is a reason the world has so many denominations of the same religion, and this question would probably be a big reason why.

If I murder someone but confess my sins can I be forgiven?
If I steal a chocolate bar or lie to my parents can I still get in to heaven?
If I have premarital sex or masturbate does that mean I am a sinner?
If I have dirty thoughts do I need to seek council?
If I don't take every single word out of the bible seriously and give my life to a god, am I to be damned to hell?

Five questions that, depending on the denomination, will more than likely garner different answers.

How the sin system in Catholicism works:

If you have sinned but are atoning for them sins then you shall join the kingdom of god.

Not for lawyers anyways. Pretty sure none of them make it in. I'm sure this is a very common thought for lawyers. A definite denial of heaven would be very healthy when doing things that may be against ones conscience. Not having to answer for immorality and unethical behaviour as a way of thinking must be essential when doing many lawyer jobs.

No heaven for anyone.

Like many laypersons you have no concept of the ethical obligations under which lawyers are required to operate.

Gotta be honest, after reading your sig I have realised that it takes a different type of person to believe that giberish.

Not so.

The thing about lawyers is that they are pretty much the facilitator of evil. That is one of the main reasons there will be none in heaven. The only reason lawyers exist is because there is evil and there is people who want to do wrong to others. Lawyers are the people that work to make those things happen.

Lawyers also help free innocent people, convict guilty ones, and do a lot of other stuff beyond trials. They're a necessary part of society. No more inherently good or evil than the garbage man or the farmer.

There is a reason the world has so many denominations of the same religion, and this question would probably be a big reason why.

Five questions that, depending on the denomination, will more than likely garner different answers.

The criteria for entry into heaven varies. It all depends who you ask. I have no idea to be honest, it's constantly changing. Not that I care either way because it is irrelevant to me.

Bible states that all you have to do is believe/trust that you're a sinner and Jesus Christ died upon the the cross (which is historical fact) for your sins (which is where most people have their skepticism step in) since it's a one & done thing, paid for all sins past, present, and future.

Anything else after that is irrelevant, getting baptised, attending a church, tithing (giving money) is suppose to come naturally supposedly but I've known people who don't do those things.

But then again there's so many denominations of Christianity that it's kind of funny
