SJ and then LA. I just want a straight beatdown of LA though... Dustin especially.

picking out "easy" playoff opponents is a half step away from hoping for a road loss after 2 wins in the stanley cup finals so that the cup can be won on home ice ...

In terms of the easiest route to the second round, Minny.

I'll be glad with whatever team is given to us. Last year all Canucks fans wanted to play LA and we all know how that went.

With 2 games left and LA playing SJ for their final game it appears the Blues can decide who they meet based on their final two games. They can pic Van or LA depending on winning their final 2 games. I hope they pic LA as I prefer Van plays SJ. Some how I think the Blues will prefer SJ as well.

Why does everyone want to play SJ so bad? They killed us this year. Sometimes teams with poorer records match up better against certain opponents (even ones a head of them in the standings).

Very possible as Minny is playing EDM and COL next two games. I'm sure they don't want to face ANA or CHI.

Honestly I'm not convinced with Anaheim. Virtually the same roster that sucked last year, and outside of Getzlaf, Perry, Ryan and 40 year old Teemu, I don't see much of a threat. Their defense is pretty lackluster as well. They got hot early on in the season and have been playing .500 hockey lately. If I was Minny and had control of my own destiny, I would want Anaheim.

LA won't make it past round 1 this year

LA is the team I fear the most out of the 16 in the playoffs. It's not always about the the team on paper, but about the system they play. Sutter knows how to play in the playoffs and with the size of their forwards, their shut down d-core and one of the best goalies in the game there's no reason they can't repeat. I'd rather play a healthy Penguins team in the first round if that was even possible.

Do we seriously think there are going to be ANY easy playoff teams after the way we have performed for most of the season. I hope we get the toughest SOB's in the conference.

Let's get it all out there and see if we are ass-kickers or guys that get their ass kicked.

I would love to start with LA and begin with some serious payback. Hopefully this time we won't sleepwalk the first 2 games.

SJS would probably give the least problems, but I want Minnesota. Show them who owns the NorthWest division.

Who is the best match up for the Canucks? Obviously San Jose or Minnesota.

How awesome would it be to knock off the Sharks, Kings, and Blackhawks en route to the finals? (and then the Bruins in the finals...) :bigblush:

Minny wins their final two games and St.Louis also wins and there is a very good chance we get Minny in the 1st round.

Unfortunately Minnesota sucks and will most likely lose at least 1 of their final 2 games.

Who cares about the division. The Sharks I think would give the most problems, then the Blues, then the Wild, then the Kings.

They defeated us in 2012, and anyway it'll be a good way to start of a new divisional rivalry!

ha everyone shaking in their boots from the thought of facing Torres. My guess is if he forgets to pay hockey he can consider himself retired I doubt he will Injure anyone with anything other than a clean check. But it is Torres maybe its time he does retire?

Actually they're seeming less likely with their game against Calgary. I think it will the West will shuffle out to look like...

(1) Chi vs (8) Det
(2) Ana vs (7) SJ
(3) Van vs (6) Min
(4) StL vs (5) LA

I want to face SJ in the 1st round, don't use their physicality alot which can hurt our chances.

Who will most likely be our 1st round opponent:

Between the LA VS SJ game on saturday, loser will face us most likely, and for sure if STL wins their next. Hoping SJ loses and STL wins so SJ is ours. LA VS STL would be pretty cool series.

After tonight's game it's impossible for Minnesota (as un-feasible as it seemed in the first place) to finish 6th. Likely SJ or LA, still possibly StL after the final match.
