This team's shown incredible character. With their Swedish stars, they remind a little of our squad.

How'bout a Van-Ott final? Would LOVE to see it! Certainly be excellent hockey, as the game's meant to be played.

And we sweep them with Luongo getting 4 SO after Schneider gets injured. Then they give us their next four first rounders for Luongo!

This is what i said near the beginning of the season! They were rolling without their three top players and now they are coming back for the playoffs. Scary

The NHL is a fixed old boys club. I've come to acceptance with that and just watch for entertainment. The 2011 & 2012 Canucks are champs in my books. Go Canucks Go!

I know it sounds absurd by Detroit is my dark horse, they just haven't clicked this season and seeing them limp into the playoffs is kind of surreal with the dominance that detroit has pretty much always shown.

Yes most definitely.

I'm a sens fan. Fell in love with them last year. Imo they have the best young defenseman in the league with karlsson and cowen. Cowen with the monster hits and defensive play. Karlsson with the slick offenseive plays. Paul McLean is also the best coach in the nhl in my eyes. I mean how can you still be in playoff contention with all those prolonged injuries to their top guys?

Couple yrs back, this team looked like they might go scorched earth, trade a bunch of $ guys, & rebuild. Their 'tending was shambles; & probably people were wondering if the Heatley fiasco might be the start of team-disintegration. Youtube was invented to reveal Spezza's goofy chuckle, & his drop-passes to the ghost of Howie Morenz. I had them on par with the 'Lames of 2004, staggering towards their subsequent downward spiral...

I reflect on all this to emphasize the BEAUTIFUL job Bryan Murray did. If they could illustrate & frame this methodical, meticulous work of art, it'd be hanging in the Met, toot-sweet. I like Gillis, but I think he also has to bow down to Murray's recent performance. He's built a deep, young character squad on a shoestring budget- Shero in Pittsburgh can't say that, either.

I don't see it happening, Ottawa doesn't have the horses up front. Who would you even consider their best forward right now!? Maybe if they had a completely healthy Karlsson & Spezza, but as they are now I doubt it.

It's the kinda' team that has to score by committee. If they go far, there'll be a diff bloke getiin' the game winner every night. Even if they don't go far, they should be in the conversation for many seasons. The team-approach also allows salary-control; enabling Murray to add key pieces at future deadlines. Also, he may take advantage of the CBA coming cap-crunch, if some valuable peces are available due to the 64.3 mill limit.

Hopefully they can meet the Bruins in the first round.

Anderson will stand on his head; the Bruins have trouble scoring.

It looks like the Rags may be running into the Goons. I like it, think they can bump them off(especially with their deadline acquisitions).

With Karlsson's return, and possible other stars down the road they have as good or better chance than most.

Too bad NYR will undoubtedly win the east. I'll be routing for Ottawa as well. Same with the other Canadian teams.

Ottawa definitely has it in them to create a huge 1st round upset. Especially if Spezza comes back sometime soon.

Just saw TSN hilites, & Clowe limped off tonite early in the game. That might hurt their PO chances.

Front Runner: St Louis Blues
Dark Horse: New York Islanders (a long shot indeed)

I've excluded the Canucks as an option from my picks. Simply because, of course I would pick my favorite team as the front runners :P

They are up 2-0 on Boston right now in a game that Boston should be playing hard for the division title...then again, the Sens are playing their asses off so they can at least get a point and avoid the 8 seed and a first round date with Pittsburgh.

Sad thing for Boston is if this game was played when it was supposed to be they would've wiped the floor with the then slumping Sens.

By the way learn how to spell SHIRIKOV who is this shirakov

Amazingly on his first shift Kassian would have had a breakaway if Kesler knew how to pass. And he still got switched with Weiss. And note it is "Weiss" not "Wise".

I don't want the Bruins to get an easy match-up. But I do want to see the Leafs get beat down and swept.

Wish I could have both.

If the top 4 seeds in the east win their series, that means Bruins vs. Pens in the 2nd round, right? :bigblush:
