Jochen Hecht has just announced that this was his last NHL game. He'll be heading back to Germany with his family.

A bit surprising, but he is turning 36 this year. We've seen Europeans retire a little early to go back home in the past as well.

may sabres rebuilding is a reason...i´m sure he will play in the DEL though..maybe Mannheim
