Wow just watched the highlights, Harding played a solid game, hate those odd man rushes, looks like he over committed and got caught going the wrong way. Suter is a beast. Definitely gonna try and watch game 2 though.

Niklas Backstrom of Minnesota Wild could miss Game 2 against Chicago Blackhawks:

CHICAGO -- Minnesota Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom and defenseman Clayton Stoner did not practice on Thursday, increasing the possibility they will be unavailable for Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Wild forward Jason Pominville also missed Thursday's practice and will not travel to Chicago for Friday's game. He missed Game 1.

Coach Mike Yeo says if Backstrom is unable to go, Josh Harding will get the start on Friday night after he made 35 saves in Minnesota's 2-1 overtime loss in the opener Tuesday night.

Blackhawks center Dave Bolland and goalie Ray Emery have been ruled out for Game 2 due to lower-body injuries. Emery skated on Thursday, and coach Joel Quenneville says both players could travel to Minnesota for Game 3 on Sunday.

Backstrom was scratched with a leg injury after he hurt himself while reaching for a puck as he warmed up for Game 1. Harding, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last summer and played in just five games this season, responded with one of his best games of the season.

Pominville missed the last two games of the regular season after he was elbowed in the chin by Dustin Brown of the Los Angeles Kings, and Stoner is dealing with an unspecified injury.

Backstrom may be out but Harding has stepped up in every way possible. Regardless of the outcome of this series Harding is the MVP in my opinion.

too bad the Masterson is voted on before the playoffs... imagine if they make this a 7 game series with Harding playing in all the games and all of them being close. He'd easily be able to write and sell a book on how to overcome adversity.

Harding is playing great considering how little action he saw this year. Too bad he was hung out to dry either by his D or bad bounces.

I'm getting annoyed with how things seem to be working out for Chicago so far. They get an easy 1st round match, if Canucks lose they look to be getting another easy match against San Jose instead of STL or LA. Neal is injured for Pit. I need to start seeing some bad things happen to Chicago.

you'd think they were the #1 team or something... oh wait... that is what they are and that is the benefit of being the #1 team.

no... the Canucks got the #8 team, just like every #1 team gets in the first round. It just happens that the #8 team won the cup last year.

Bouchard! We got a tie!!

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Wild have the #1 prospect pool?

Uh oh.

And the Oilers are deadly.. or should be soon. The Avs will improve. The Flames will always blow chunks and what about us? Can we compete with them in a few years?

yep! Zucker and Coyle (who both got points today) are both rookies. And Zucker hit the crossbar in game 1 in OT... yes... the Wild could've been up 2-1 right now had Z put it an inch lower. (yes I know that's playing the "what if" game.)
