OMG YES! This is the year boys! In other years:

-We were with CBC
-Always started on day 1 of the playoffs
-Never got the favourable match up

This time

-With TSN
-Starts on second day of the playoffs
Got the favourable match up

I notice this more than anything. Ice and arena sounds are 10x more audible, which is great and adds to the intensity.

The biggest reason why I prefer TSN over CBC. Sportsnet is probably the worst followed by CBC in that area.

Yup, happy with this too. Only drawback is probably Ferraro. Think I heard him warn us about the Garrison signing, maybe 10x...

"With Flor, Garrison scored all his goals at the start, then REALLY tapered off...", felt like he was wishing the guy would be a dud. Sorry Ferraro, the guy's a gem.

We've all been wrong before. Ray seriously backpedaled on 1040 last week. He was saying that the Canucks took a leap of faith with Garrison but that it's paid off. Personally, I really like Ferraro's color commentary. Knows the game very well and does his homework.

So CBC is showing Kings / Blues series !
It shows the indifference the CBC and HNIC has for the Canucks and the west coast of Canada.

It doesn't show anything. CBC picked Toronto game (can't blame them), Mon vs Ottawa game (can't blame them either) and CBC picked the remaining series after TSN picked three. Please shut your whiny mouth.

Why? Cause they aren't bias homers Like SNP?

Love HNIC

It's tradition, it's playoffs, end if story.

Because its Leafs Night in Canada.

And because Healy and Stock are dumb.

I like the tradition, but CBC has really taken a nose dive in recent years, its almost become the Leafs regional broadcast, rather than the unbiased Canadian broadcast it should be.

I will really really miss the intro's though. Thats the only legitimate downside to getting TSN for me, everything else is great.

So if sens win, it's the best of both worlds:

Canucks play on TSN

And

Leafs get their a$$es handed to them in 4 games.

True dat brotha!

I'm gonna miss the intros, but it'll only be one round without them, as it's pretty likely that if the Canucks move on to the 2nd round we'll be on CBC.

I'd rather Chris Cuthbert and Ferraro than the CBC B-team.

If it's on TSN, bring back Pierre McGuire so I can make the playoffs interesting by playing this every game:

Of course I'd update a few players, but you get the point...

Damn, that would be great.

:(

I'd rather kill myself than listen to someone like Aaron Ward or McClement or Johnson as a color comentator (the guy between the benches)

I don't know their names but you know who i'm talking about.. The like backup goaltenders, they're so bad

Dw it will be Ferraro.

As much as I don't like watching HNIC cast canucks games, I don't get TSN so I'd have to either watch every game with my best friend or only have the team1040. It doesn't sound that bad, but it's irksome.

Online?

TSN pros:
- Better commentators
- Better sound
- Real HNIC theme song

HNIC pros:
- Don Cherry

Another CBC is pro is the intros.

And Cherry talks non-CBC series aswell. So maybe he won't talk about us as much but I imagine he will still talk about us. (Hopefully, I'm a fan of his)

So lets say the Leafs and Sens get knocked out in the first round.

That would mean we could have Hughson for the second round if we advance!

Cuthbert round 1! Hughson round 2 and beyond! That would be sweet.

Hopefully! :towel:

interesting , the Canucks are the only one of the Canadian teams NOT on CBC although I prefer the commentators we will be getting this smells of more bias against the West of course we should expect that since Toronto is actually in the Play-offs after years of missing them .Saw that Elliott Friedman said something like " I think our guys here worry about how we are perceived out West in Vancouver " lol

I don't recall a Canadian team bumped in favor of two American teams Kings / Blues which CBC is showing instead of the Canucks.
We should all be angry because of the indifference shown by our publicly funded tv network.

I was under the impression that the deal between CBC and TSN doesn't allow CBC to take all the Canadian teams ( someone can correct me if I'm wrong). I'm sure if they could they would have picked us as Canucks = big bucks for CBC.

Although I want Jim Hughson to call the Canucks game, it's not too shabby with those two doing the play-by-play this year. Quite frankly I missed Cuthbert calling the Canucks game on CBC.

Good god his calls are timeless.

I'm beyond excited to hear him call our game on Wednesday.

And this is off-topic,

but Dave Reid just said (When asked who can challenge the Hawks in the West) on TSN that he thinks:

"the Vancouver Canucks are the one team that can beat the Chicago Blackhawks in a playoff series"

I'm liking TSN more and more by the minute. :towel:

stoked hate cbc now but everytime i hear cuthbert or armitage ( where is he?) i think of 94 playoffs and the way we played! We seemed like a different team right out of the gates and babych called it durin a pregame interview.

Tsn + Cuthbert gives BC a hidden confidence
that will translate into victory... I will know during thefirst 5 minutes how we will do this playoffs. In 2011 it was there as we came out storming because of revenge now they have to chanel that revenge fever to get back to the finals and take no prisoners along the way...

I call 4 to 1 series if we come out flying and will be cautious or skeptical if we dont. Confidence is key and even confidence in the fanbase can be felt on ice through the arena.. Whoever is going to the game cheer louder than ever before say we want the cup instead of niemi chants and try to egg on some big hits. Edler will try to step up and deliver.

TSN and CBC have a draft on the playoff series. CBC gets to pick two and then TSN gets to pick, not sure if it continues the same way after that or if it goes back and forth. But CBC took TOR/BOS and MTL/OTT, and TSN wasn't about to let a HUGE Canadian market go in Vancouver so they took VAN/SJS.

Interesting point by Bob Mackin in regards to TSN getting Canucks games and the trickle down effect it has

Bob Mackin@bobmackin4h

#Canucks on TSN instead of CBC in 1st round must put a crimp in #bcpoli campaign ad plans. Probably harms Libs more than NDP.

I tried it once with water just to get an idea of what I would be getting myself into if I actually brought the beer out... Pretty sure I would've been through 4 or 5 beers by the end of the first period.

PC, Thanks for that, 1st I heard. It was significant to me for a # of reasons, namely that Ferraro played the game & usually seemed "in the know" on signings & inside info. MG takes a lot of heat, but last summer that was a coup for our mgt, to get this guy. Van fans are passionate, & excited to get a local bloke like JG. I agree with you on Ferraro's usual analysis, he does know the game with his experience. Does he like Van? Don't know. Maybe despite being a BC guy, he tries to maintain a strictly impartial approach...

Absolutely shocked that CBC isn't carrying the Canucks games. Then again Toronto and Montreal will draw the bigger audience for them.

Really it doesn't matter to me what network carries Canuck games as long as they're televised.

Cuthbert & Ferraro are good, maybe the best combo.

No Simpson doing color or Stock between periods is about as win win as you can get.
