[The Province] Loads of Canucks playoff tickets available raising questions about Vancouver market

High Canadian ticket prices = higher total league revenue = higher salary cap next year = higher player salaries = owners decrying lower profits = owners increasing ticket prices. The cycle needs to be broken!

Loads of Canucks playoff tickets available raising questions about Vancouver market:

There’s been a downward-sloping demand curve
in Vancouver and there are several factors, including the lockout, a team many view as stale and that team’s renewed commitment this year to play a more defensive style. You know, boring.

The sad thing? Maple Laugh tickets are like minimum $215ish and they sold out immediately, guess they are just too hungry for playoff tickets.

But prices are ridiculous. In the regular season I've flown to Phoenix to watch a Canucks game in the lower bowl, got food & parking etc. and it was still cheaper than a lower bowl ticket up here.

Tough economy, uninspired playing and why bother when you can see alot more on the ice watching a HD tv than up in the rafters. And the price, if you asked Sally Struthers you could feed a family in Africa for a year for $150 the same price as a single ticket!

It's not the prices. We've seen in the past that people are willing to fork out that kind of money but for a high quality product. People want to pay for winners, not losers. The Canucks are a broken product right now. Would you pay $1500 for a brand new laptop that won't even turn on?
