I'm kinda getting sick of watching Canada win all these round robin games then lose as soon as the knock out games start. So I don't have the same interest this year as I usually do. I'm sure I'll watch the elimination games, but I'm not sure what I'll see of the round robin.

Wow that team is STACKED!! Just watch them go down the bench: Giroux, Stamkos, Eberle, Hall, E. Staal, Ladd. Get that chemistry going and they should be unstoppable.

just came back from the game. met Crawford (now the coach of Zurich Lions)

Canada looked lackluster. they only tried after the tie in the third (which seemed to be kicked in by Niederreiter). all penalty attempts were horrible.

other than that, Canada will be ok...it kinda looked like they weren't even trying

Switzerland is always a pain in the ass, well coached, good goaltending and they love playing Canada

5-1 Canada over Norway, on TSN right now, Dubnyk in net, thinking he will get the rest of the starts. It's weird not seeing certain players for Canada. Usually, RIck Nash and John Taveres are playing on Canada. Still, a solid lineup for Canada, hope they can do well in this tournament as they have not had much success in the past few years.

I would love to see Bobby Lu join Team Canada right now, make him feel wanted, Canada is kinda lacking in the goalie department for this tournament, I don't think Mike Smith or Devin Dubnyk will cut it

I'd be more interested in sending Hammer and Garrison over...the D looks weaker than the goaltending, IMO.

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

Luongo's going to go home to Florida, where he has wished he was all season. No way he goes to Europe for a tournament, he's Roberto Freaking Luongo, not some young guy. If they pay him $1M per game he'll go.

Sometimes players want to go over once they're eliminated, just to try and get rid of the bitter taste of losing in the first round.

However, in this case, I agree. I think Lou is emotionally burned out from the uncertainty that followed him all season and probably just wants to get away from the game for a while...

There roster is considerably more stacked than the other countries. anything short of winning it all is disappointing.

Gillis said the Canucks had been looking to buy a AHL franchise for 4 years. The fact that Roussel got away from them while in Chicago last year really hurts. He is an in your face kind of player with a scoring touch. Who knows maybe they didn't have room under the 50 contract limit. Next year will be different in Preoria.

I swear it was one of the most entertaining games in recent IIHF history tonite between Finland and Russia! And we won on top of all that! Go Finland!

Notable statistics are that Radulov and Kovalchuk had almost 50% of the ice time in the game and the rest played what was left over. Kovy had 15 minutes of PP time :)
And the icing on the cake was Kovy getting yanked just a few seconds before the final buzzer. It's been that way for Russians for as long as I can remember. Unless they produce and win, they go solo and then it boils over in the final minutes. Almost every time. This time it was just a bit more entertaining all around.
